Oh you know:

But otherwise doing mighty fine (the more I see the word work, the less it looks like a word)

Random question for you all:
Whats something you would like to see more at zoos? (not specific species but more general stuff)
Haven't been to that many zoos lately, so I don't really know, but more light sprinklers/misters. I sometimes seem them at more tropical themed areas, but having them around all over the place would be nice.
But I know larger zoos do it, but I'd love to do more of the adult themed stuff and educational events, no kids, people who likely actually want to learn, and more close up events with the animals with people who will behave. I know you can read the signs and what not, but then again how many people actually bother reading the signs or matching the animals to the pictures on the signs. Not quite the same as what you were referring too but yea

This thought popped into my head some random saturday last year: I want to have a cocktail in a reptile house with a big snake today.

So I hopped on a train with my man and was gleefully surprised that this was possible at London Zoo. So I will say: cocktail bars in the vicinity of reptile houses.

It was a mojito I believe. Oh you mean the snake? Burmese python.

The more I see the words word work the more I think about woodwork which is words about work with wood, would you believe? I wouldn't mind work with wood if woodwork were my work tbh, sounds quite nice.

Unfortunately I work on a laptop, which is a really weird word now I think about it...

Watch me flex on you when my local zoo has a lecture hall for public lectures about animals, conservation, plants, archeology, etc, aswell as many adult focused programs like late evening guided tours and meets and greets with animals like their madagascar boa.
The aquazoo düsseldorf might be small, but its defenetly a top notch experience

No habitats that make me feel sad.
I know that modernisation takes time and money and that if they could most zoos would gladly modernise and expand every single exhibit, but even knowing that it just sucks alot to go to a great zoo only to find a few really sad and depressing habitats inbetween.

Special shoutout to zoo duisburg, which gets so much so right but then you wonder into a certain corner and just see the most god awful orange utan habitat you have ever had the displeasure to witness

I didn’t do it at the Bronx zoo cause we had to get going (5 hour drive back home) but I wanted to have some beers while walking around the zoo. A cold beer on a summer day, watching some animals, my way of relaxing!

But also in general, I want to go to a tropical house and an aquarium again. On TikTok I’ve now seen so much stuff for the Georgia aquarium and Monterey Bay aquarium. Also thinking of the tropical houses at the Bronx Zoo and Franklin Park Zoo makes me want to go again.

How are you feeling? I should also go back into the dentist, I'm pretty sure I have one or two cavities :/
Also, did they give you gas/put you under for the wisdom teeth procedures?
I am feeling fine, a little sore but could be worse. They did put me under for the Wisdom Teeth, they also game me gas for the Cavity procedure. Hope you can get those Cavitys token care of soon.

Oh man, I remember my wisdom teeth removing procedure…they did 3 at once. I was eating soups all week because they needed to cut my gums because the teeth were not fully out so they needed to sewn it and give me stiches. Not a pleasant experience.
I feel your pain, I had all four done and had to wait quite a while into I could eat most solid foods. I was stuck with soup and really soggy grilled cheese (I dipped the sandwich into the soup to make it soggy), among other things. I could barely chew the grilled cheese even when soggy so I could barely enjoy it. Anyways I got these cool dissolving stitch when I got the Wisdom Teeth removed, did any of you guys get that?

Ah, ok, good that it's not bad bad. For me, they asked if I was feeling nervous or anything and I said no, so my dentist didn't put me under for the teeth removal or gave me gas, and I had all 4 taken out and the only thing they did to me was give me a few numbing shots. The taste of that stuff is HORRIBLE and you can still feel the pressure from the extraction, which is the most bizarre feeling ever when there's no pain.

I'm hoping I can go to a dentist within the next few months, I haven't been to once since like 2020 due to my family moving and me being at college, so never got the chance to see one again.

Mine were also dissolvable. I don't even remember what I ate during that time, though I definitely didn't eat any berries, as that was one of the few things I was told not to eat due to the seeds

This is such a good answer. I really hate seeing sad habitats. I actually prefer not to see big headline animals in zoos, such as great apes, elephants, big cats and bears. I just feel so sad for them. Especially African elephants, which are a migtatory species, or animals that naturally roam vast territories. I'm so glad a lot of good zoos are giving up keeping elephants especially. I avoid visiting zoos that I know will make me feel regretful for paying the entrance fee.

I'm much happier looking at smaller critters that can take up more space and be satisfied with lots of enrichment, or (no offense wildebeest guys and friends), dumber animals that won't get depressed or anxious. You can so often tell how an animal is feeling from its behaviour and I just hate seeing a tiger pacing or anyone displaying repetitive stress movements.
