Wait a minute is that rightwhale's thread, I've seen that same person say the white faced whistling ducks would be one of the best animals to the game 🤔
Maybe 😳

Will say though I usually go by a different name on most things, except for Steam and other Videogame stuff. I was more shocked because, while it seems like most commenters are for it, one or two guys are so staunchly against the idea it actually would ruin the game in their eyes!

I will also say I am not the biggest fan of Reddit outside of browsing, Redditors are not the most fun people to interact with.

Yeah I used to be active on the subreddit but far too many arguments led me to avoid commenting almost anything these days. Those large 100+ comment posts just attract all the negative people who somehow have endless arguments and have to be right, I know it's like here at times but it gets far more personal over on Reddit.

I think what makes me dislike Reddit is a number of reasons:
  1. Higher traffic, so you get more of all types
  2. It’s less personal, you just post stuff and be on with it. You don’t really get to have better interactions with people. No dedicated threads to return conversations too. Every day is new stuff to just upvote and scroll.
  3. People will randomly dislike a post, sometimes they won’t even say why.
  4. This forum also has echo chamber issues, but Reddit gets it bad. Either toxic positivity or toxic negativity and none of the in between.
  5. Also the typical stereotypical redditor personality as you said. Endless arguments and opinions. It’s not fun.

It's kinda of funny that you say this, considering that people on Reddit tend to describe this forum in a similar way.

My actual opinion on this matter is very similar to RightWhale, so i don't think i can add much more to the conversation.

Yeah it’s funny, but it doesn’t seem like anyone on any place of discussion for Planet Zoo likes one another. Be it the forum, Reddit, or on Steam.

I genuinely don’t get the issues have with the forum, it’s not like you can get dogpilled and downvoted like you can on Reddit. Granted, I am obviously biased. So who knows.

Takin needs a size increase, provides ample evidence

Forum - argues over presentation of source sizes, provides personal experience with seeing both animals, conclusion of it's a minor issue but factually correct

Reddit - doesn't read the description, downvoted without explanation, gets personally insulted, one person agrees but no one else pays attention

Looking at the metawishlist, i'm surprised aquariums aren't as voted as aviaries (if not more).
From what I remember, it seemed far less likely that aquariums would get included pretty early on - think a couple DLCs after the Aquatic DLC was released. Once that made the rounds here on the Forums and everyone seemed to accept it, the requests for birds really took flight(my sincerest apologies).

I would actually be quite interested in a poll for PZ2 which one would you prefer. I recall seeing some polls in years past and aviaries always won, but since most people felt aquariums less likely that probably skewed the vote. My guess is birds would still win, but it would be close.

I want aquariums, but yeah Aviaries matter more to me.

Not to mention, I perfectly fine if the Aquariums are like a special form of the exhibit box. The lungfish and sea dragon mods look fantastic. And the exhibit box makes for a decent aquarium too.

I hope we get a re-work of the animal trade system, but a specific upgrade would be to search based on appeal rating.
So I can search:
  • Based on fertility(for example) rating
  • Only Silver Rated

I'd also like to add a Platinum or Diamond rating, which would be all stats at 90 or above. To really categorize those in the top tier. Not all Gold Tier animals are the same.
We can already do this..? I play Franchise and I always keep my searches extremely limited to only get the animals I'm currently looking for popping up on my searches. For me that's animals with only 75 and higher in Size and Longevity (since those are the genes that really matters to me). Then it's just a matter of changing the species I'm currently hunting for. You can also set to look for Silver or Gold and stuff like that.
I apologise if I misunderstood you and you meant a different system than we have already or if you simply wanted the system carried over to the next game..?

Can you? I was not aware you could filter based on one specific stat, or for the rating.
To my knowledge it was just filter between CCs or $$, alphabetical/reverse alphabetical, and cheapest/most expensive.

I misremembered about Silver and Gold sorry (just took a look in the game) but you can search for appeal.

Edit: Ah, you can search for Silver and Gold and so on in exhibits. xD That's probably where I got that idea from...

Plus the axolotl and newt are fine vanilla demonstrations of how exhibits can be perfectly suited for small aquatic animals. I'd love to see animals like morays, octopuses, and mantis shrimp in them one day!

I hope we get at least two forms of aquariums. Third one would be touch pools, but those aren't as essential. But I would be equally annoyed if we get only exhibit aquariums, or only habitat tanks
