Would be pretty cool I can start raving about how a tropical house or Latin America pack would be the best thing ever
Yeah, considering I borderline think the two DLC speculation threads will give people the wrong impression and lead the, astray….. I think it would be a good idea.

Likewise, it would give people space where they don’t have to care about the metawishlist, if it’s a good final dlc, or anything else. You can spend time making a DLC you would personally like, and people can talk about it.

I think it can also be a cool place to give some shoutouts to modders, like if you want a certain animal you can help people go in the right direction for mods.

So I have made a number of new threads on this forum, and I’ve floated the idea around. Do you guys think it would be worth it to make a “Personal DLC/ Packs” thread? We don’t know if DLC 19 or 20 is coming, likewise a sequel is garunteed either. I’m just wondering if it would be cool to make a place where people can still drop DLC ideas, where you don’t have to worry about what others consider “necessary for the game”.

I just think it would be cool as another creative outlet. What would you guys think?
That would be nice, then I could share the Ultimate Dlc of all time, it can only happen if you make that thread 😉

I got to be honest, this last pack and anniversary is kind of a bummer. A new dlc came out and people are actually posting less on here. I get this is because almost all signs point to the end, but you would think with new content people would be chatting more.

Now I am seeing the opposite. So do other people feel how I do? Or is this just normal post dlc silence? I think it’s a bit sad :/

Like I said, I just feel like a final “farewell” just should have been more.

I want to post more I just don't know what to post, especially that I am going to be away from my gaming laptop and PZ until Thursday.

Probably a bit of both post dlc silence and everyone knowing it's the end.
I get how you feel, it sucks seeing the online communities you've been hanging out with slowly quiet down once official content ends as there isn't much to talk about or even a reason to do so, as by that point it just feels like you're screaming into the void. Part of it could just be burnt out from the last few weeks of chatter, I'm sure people will still pop in and out soon enough once they get over their forum burnout and show off what they built or talk about ideas. That was me for a bit, I avoided the forums for the most part for a bit, save for a few threads on specific zoo builds.
As for the finale, it did feel a little lackluster but we did have a good 5 years of support so I'm fine with that

Nevermind, I got something

Look at this pop-up I got, and no I have not looked up Pallas Cat on Google before

I mean what do you expect people to talk about?
Even if there wasnt the simple fact that dlc speculation without support is more then just a little pointless, you also got the fact that we have talked everything to death, especally in the last year. We are speculating on the same things since arid basicly, with the 3 following packs all being great and important, but the biggest thing they did was actually stop discussions.
Domestics arnt a topic anymore, europe isnt and oceania discussion can be summed up as chudditch + tree kangaroo since the oceania pack dropped.
Now we got zookeepers and all it did regarding topics to talk about was shutdown the most popular and diverse pack idear with a very mid execution on the concept and the fact that 95%+ of the people here believe that it was the last pack.
The only things in the pack that sparked any kind of discussions was the markhor takin thing, the fact that tortoises really need that upsize and sifaka talk, either how it should be a new world monkey or the madagascar thread.
Free update was also lack luster, especally as everybody refused to call out the leopard because of it being free.

So whats left to talk about?
A potential sequel we might get sometimes in the far future that we have discussed at lenght the last year and bemourning birds, monkeys and south america, which we did for literally forever.

Sure i could write for what must be the 30+ time about the fact that the white faced whistling duck is most likly the single best addition that could be added to the game, but besides being repetetive, again whats the point? All i can do is mourn its absence from the official game and download the mod which im not allowed to discuss here, so why even talk about it?

I'm pretty sure I read on the PZ conspiracies thread that this was originally meant to be a Mountains Animal Pack, and the three non-mountainous animals were added at the last minute. Think about it:
  • We got the Hamadryas Baboon, Pallas's Cat, Markhor, and Spectacled Bear in the same pack
  • The key art features exclusively mountainous animals
  • Despite this being a "fan favorites" pack, I can't imagine that the Kirk's Dik-Dik and African Spurred Tortoise had that big a following, so they gave us easy clones at the last minute instead of animals that would require brand new animations like the Secretary Bird or South American Coati (the Coquerel's Sifaka does throw a wrench into that though)
I mean, it makes an awful lot of sense . . .

I know you're referring to me here but for a second I thought you meant the actual chuditch was as prominent in Oceania discussions as the tree kangaroo and that I had somehow missed the sudden explosion in popularity of my namesake animal

add him to the game frontier
hides the fact it is only kept in 4 zoos under a rug

Yeah, like @TheNamesJonas said, I also got a bit burnt out in the long run up to the last DLC, so am not taking a full break but definitely quietened down a lot. I expect a few people are the same. I hope this community keeps going though, I'm not going anywhere at least.

Also, isn't Autumn (in the N hemisphere) a bit of a busy time for everyone? School is in full swing, work is full on, there are lots of festivals and things going on i.e. halloween, bonfire night (UK), thanksgiving (US) etc and people are figuring out their Hannukah/Christmas/other midwinter festival plans. So maybe people are just a bit busy busy...I know I am.

I think a few things will keep the forum alive but it will probably never again be as rampant as the speculation threads during anticipation-hour. That might not be a bad thing though 😂 I've enjoyed seeing more variety of people on this thread, I hope this keeps going and more people join in just to get to know each other a bit and enjoy our shared interests :) It's a weird thing making friendships with you lovely people in this way, but it's really special, I really like it! Just knowing there is this group of people that are as crazy about animals as each other and also love this game is so nice.

There is still a tiny, dumb, hopefully part of me that wonders if we'll still get something around Christmas DLC-wise. Almost certainly not but it would be so, so good. If that happened this place would be ignited! That would be cool to see

Have people seen the new alleged Tasmanian Tiger footage from ambigious worlds channel, looks very interesting
