Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Apex Interstellar Transport could use a SCO.
"Driver, I'll take a bath, don't bother me with interdictions. Unless they try to steal my Tormentor."
"Yeah, whatever, dude."

Tricky, I suppose you could get rid of either of the two scouts which would get you to just the 40 ships.
Don't you dare besmirch the Diamondback Scout! There is only one Scout to lose, the Asp Scout. The Diamondback is an incredible ship.
But then there is the very nice looking Cobra mkV which they teased on the stream to come, so you would have to lose the other scout.
Ditch the Annie. Don't even think about suggesting any moth/snake combination ship.
Hmmm.

Not sure which way to jump on this.
Whichever way you do, "Diamondback" is not that direction.
I suppose I could dry dock the Hauler, Added and A.N. Other when the MKV arrives. It's just my OCD wanting keep all my ships in one place :D
Anaconda, Beluga, Federal *ship. There are many ships with basically no role in the game that you can dump.

I mean, the Dropship isn't even used as a dropship. Do the maths.

I don't own a fleet carrier, yet, but decided to split my ships up. There are quite a few I don't use that often in Suhte, which I call my home system. A few ships are located in Columbus, Sol (most of the time, that's the base of operations for my race team) and some follow me around in the bubble to wherever I'm busy at.

Oh well maybe to use on the weekends when their slaves have the day off.
I just started recently to improve my relations with them Empire, and had a laugh when they awarded me the noble rank of... Serf (which is the same word in French).
Can't wait to be their Villain now.

Other than that, have you noticed very obvious colors on some ships and pedestrian armours? I suppose they relate to PP2 factions? Now I'm having a TES3 Morrowind mood in EDO, being a thief surrounded by Redoran or Hlaluu guards... Joking aside, I kinda like this because it gives more background and varierty to them NPCs.

If you find ships flying banners for a power, check the radar.

Oi!! The Asp Scout is one of my favourite ships in the game!! Mine, The Queen's Gambit, took me all the way to Sag A, Colonia, a lap of most places. I love it (largely because it looks a bit like the DeTomaso Mangusta from the rear) and will not hear a bad word said about it.

Entirely agree on the your other points, though.

Oof.

So, if I buy a Mandelay and a Type 8 (eventually), I'll be one over my limit to have on my carrier. Which means I'll either have to ditch an existing ship or not buy one of the new ones. That's a kick in the proverbials. Not one that'll have me doubled up in agony, but enough to make me walk funny.
I have bought both and love them. I have to say - controversial opinion incoming? - that the T8 has completely retired my Python. It is so good for outpost trading that I found the Python was surplus to requirement.

The Mandalay is a hoot, feels like a barely under control hot rod, lots of thrust. Will be my exobiology ship (need to start that, total rookie, stupid questions might appear on this thread, sorry) but others in my squadron have made a good AX ship out of it. But it is great, the view out and the range and the manoeuvrability mark the end of the Exploraconda for me. I hit 81ly range on mine and I don't travel particularly light.
