Farming Npc’s at stronghold carrier’s

So we have a couple of guys farming one of our stronghold carrier’s via krait mk2 with long range rail gun’s, they swoop in get 3or 4 to chase them, pull them away from the carrier and slaughter them, the issue is we fought them to stop them, and they went into a private group to avoid us, and now they’ve accumulated about 300,000 against the system. Power play needs to be open play only. We have absolutely no way to counter this.

Go to their system and do the same thing. They can't stop you either. It's by design.
 
Either their work at attacking your system in that manner is pointless or the system is broken enough that everyone will be reduced to only being able to play with bonuses within the protected 30ly around their chosen unassailable power main HQ. At which point most people wash their hands of PP2 and it is proven to be another ramshackle project that is basically useless.

On the contrary, PP2 as it is looks quite interesting to all who tried it.

Of course there will always be the minority who'll insist that all must play the way their crew like.
 
The idea isnt to go do the same thing to them, that’s pointless, the idea is to be able to counterplay the undermine, you don’t do that by going to their system and undermining them. Do you not understand how this works? I’m not whining lol I’m pointing out an obvious issue.

Do you not understand how this works? If undermining has no effective counterplay that’s an actual problem by design, and I’m pretty sure not an intended one.

Yeah if people just farm the carriers in private groups no one will have any effective counterplay to undermining, and all strongholds will just be screwed and it’ll be exactly what you said everyone will be reduced to headquarters. It’s a new system I’m sure there will be updates.

omg you are so hung up on the fact that I said open only can you try and see around that for one second and actually consider the rest of the information around that? Let’s say I didn’t say open only, ok I removed the open only on my post for you folks worried about it now the problem still exists what’s the solution?

...or introduce a difference like PG gives 1/10 of merits vs. open play.

What they need is a way to reinforce the system on a similar pace, in this case there’s a 3 person player group farming the carrier, they can each pull and kill 3 or 4 npcs in just a few minutes and then just grab 3 or 4 more continuously without end.
 
I think... we really need daily-limits of Merits for influence on System(, not for personal-contribution).
I’m not sure what the solution is for this at this point, either we need a way to slow down how many npc’s they can just slaughter at the carrier, or we need a way to reinforce the system at a similar pace.

There's an interesting idea, but the ingredients of the calculation are wrong:

When your Crew goes into Open to fight, you do it in a wing of multiple G5 murderboarts. And you obliterate anyone you find. With zero risk to yourselves. (that's why you like it so much), while a guy in Solo has to carry the burden in combat all alone, risking much much more than you.

So it would be only fair for Solo to receive 10/1 combat merits vs. you.
