IIRC, the guy has been around for a very long time and has appeared on a number of SC group discussion streams, unless I'm mistaking them for someone else with a similar sounding name.

The tunnel looks cool, but what's with the random columns? They seem arbitrary and just there to add unneeded hazard at the expense of verisimilitude. Quite the immersion breaker I'd say.

Serious question, that part when he is outside the tunnel and tries to get back in, is that intended to work like that?

Nah, you're not supposed to be able to transition back and forth. (You're not supposed to see the outside of the tunnel at all. If you breach it you're supposed to be dumped at the edge of the appropriate solar system).

But this is alphaville. All kinds of nonsense happens ;)

There seem to be a lot of issues with tunnel collision detection / transitions in the latest builds.

This guy tried 'no handing' a tunnel just to see what happened...



It did eventually settle down and decide he was on the edge of Stanton. (Which is what was supposed to happen, just more instantaneously).

But then he couldn't QT anywhere, and couldn't leave his seat any more. (Which was probably the 'authority handover' issue, when server mush happens...).

There is something I really can't understand, it's a real mystery to me.
That after such a long time, and so much obvious and repeated lies, some people continue to support this mess.
I would understand if it was stable. From all the videos I see, you can barely do anything most of the time...
It's even a bigger mystery when it comes to Squadron, are they really people believing it will come next year? After 12 years they couldn't even show a closed demo for a solo game with almost zero gameplay, without having many crashes.
