Thargoid invasion - Next target systems?

But how many humans in the bubble really regard it as their homeland? It’s been hundreds… over a thousand years since humans have moved on. There are thousands of Terran planets now settled by humans. Do Americans (the ones of English descent) see England as their homeland? It’s been less than 250 years.

I doubt the majority of humans in the ED universe really care that much about Earth or Sol besides the Federation, and even within the Federation most probably don’t regard Earth as a home.
I don't know. I was born in New Mexico. I'd never live there again because the politics are awful, but I'd not want to see it burned. Probably similar for Earth among humanity.

I expect people will be attempting to intercept T. Cocijo soon (or maybe they already are).

If the mechanics are as they were before, it is going to be… tricky, SCO or not. I did attempt it once, back when they were known as Rogue Signal Sources, when one was moving at a leisurely (for a Titan) pace of 640c. Due to the combination of the SC slowdown near the current target and the frame of reference not switching to the Titan, my ship would either slow down until it matched the Titan’s velocity, or overshoot. (It did not help I forgot to fit a SC assist.)
From what I’ve read later, some people did successfully drop at a RSS, but it just crashed the game back then.
The system chat in Qinganu is filled with folks trying and giving each other tips. But so far, it doesn't look possible at this speed.

I bet Salvation will reappear at some point, materializing from his Nemesis device 🤖

This 2 year long story arc started with him and should end so, too. Maybe when it turns out the Titan is tougher than the rest and humanity is at the brink of defeat in Sol 🤷‍♂️

O7,
🙃

I was just looking at the galaxy map and the idea came to be that the Titan should suffer a slight navigational error* and miss Sol by a fraction ending up at Proxima Centauri.

*Or maybe by design after all Proxima might not be quite as strategic or emotionally charged a location but it might be better tactically as a defensive location.

How good are meta Ax builds at really long cruises?

Cocijo has passed Qinganu and is now headed for Col 285 Sector OS-T d3-146 (24.16 ly away)
The Titan's usually drop next to Ammonia Worlds
Is there any way to work out what the next AW is on its current heading?
Or is it just going to be these?
AWs close enough to Sol to be actually count as near... Spansh gives just two.
Kruger 60 A 1 (13 LY)
36 Ophuichi A 4 (19 LY)
and then a bunch more in the 30+ LY range

Both systems inhabited - I doubt there's an uninhabited AW system within 100 LY of Sol.

yes, failed to intercept

The Titan is indeed gone. As are all the Thargoids in systems surrounding it, and the ones from Taranis have abandoned their holdout positions as well.
hmm ok so does this mean AX-newbs like me ( who have only destroyed 2 Titans ) can't go farm Thargoid mats & loot anymore from space 'graveyards' nor from ground inactive spire sites ? At least, not until whatever this new surprise attack-on-Sol situation is resumed/resolved?

Difficult to say, given the margin of error in that heading.

Current projection of closest approach:
Sol: 19.1 LY
Kruger 60: 21.8 LY
36 Oph: 29.54 LY
Mbooni: 34.17 LY
Its current approximate speed would put it in that vicinity just in time for next Thursday morning, which is probably somewhat indicative that it doesn't plan to stop earlier ... and I'd agree with Galnet that Sol looks the most plausible target of the four so far.

You really think this is the last Titan ever..... ?
Obviously not. I think perhaps you were reading sarcasm when I was being serious :)

I've felt for a long time that, given the effort and time invested in these wonderful set pieces and cool game loops, that it would be silly to leave them behind forever. Rather, the appearance of those pre-builds in the shop makes it pretty clear that Frontier agrees, and will be supporting Titan gameplay in some way through the narrative on an ongoing basis.

Personally I think it's only fair that since they came all the way to visit us, we should at least go and visit them.... some day :sneaky:

So, the Sol system is about to get "Concha Renibus".
Good luck!
I guess FTL in any direction you like and when you get there, FTL again...

Combat breaking out mostly around 500+ls from the sun. 1 battle near the moon.
Cojico is detectable with a scanner but obviously doesn't tell you how far away.

EDIT: I take that back, the one near the moon is just ax ship signatures.
