Elite Dangerous | Server Maintenance 5 December 2024

I guess we'll also find out how really indestructible the personal fleet carriers parked in Sol are 🤷‍♂️
Each time I've had a carrier parked in a system attacked by Thargoids there has been a free carrier jump to a safe system.

Also I'm not sure where I'm going to end up. I was in mid-jump, departing from Sol, when the servers went down and I got an Orange Sidewinder.

I'll let you know if I've found Raxxla when the universe returns...

I wonder the player placement around SOL leading up to tomorrow... Would be kinda cool to see where all the players docked and are waiting to pounce leading into the fight when servers go back up! Release the swarmmmm! lol :D

If it works like previous Titan arrival rules anybody within a 20 light year radius of the Titan might find themselves kicked to the nearest rescue megaship (whichever one that may end up being). Because then, 15 light year distance was an immediate capture, and 20 was auto-invasions for any populated system within that range. I got my alt in a station at 29(.9)ly... in part because I slacked about actually moving my Thargoid-related things on it over there until 30 minutes before the maintenance window.

Supposedly there is one moving to Luyten's Star so the capture and invasion radius may be changed for this particular encounter, but we will have to see... there could also be an attacked or wrecked rescue megaship waiting for us instead.

Okay! Very cool... ... This is my first Titan, soooo didn't really have time to read up on the pre attack logistics :) Thanks for the heads-up!

To be completely honest, I'm not completely sure what is actually going to happen as the rules of engagement might have changed completely. I guess we will know in (just over) three hours...

... but you probably wouldn't have to go far to get into the fray even if you are booted to a rescue megaship.

Using Inara, I counted about 100+ systems within 19.43 ly of Sol. Fleet carriers in the mid double digits could still be found in surrounding systems up to 16ly away. It's going to be utter mayhem if this happens to be the scenario post maintenance 😱

My carrier's in Epsilon Indi, which is practically next door to Sol, but I'm likewise not too worried. My crew can keep it safe and jump if needed.

Like you, I also got Orange Sidewindered jumping out, mid-hyperdiction (with a lot of evacuees on board) so I'm also curious if I'll still be in Sol, or if I'll get a free teleport to Cornwallis. A mystery for us both!

If you just want the populated ones, as Cocijo might potentially favor striking those (this has been Thargoid behavior the last couple months). Anything up to LHS 449(Luyten 145-141 is a border case I'm not sure on at 15.02 ly) would be immediately captured, leaving it with 31 controls, and from there to Delta Pavonis would be invasions, up to 34 in number.

If it remains focused on a 10ly radius of populated captures this would leave it with 8 controls, not counting Sol, and up to 23 invasions within a 15ly range (includes Luyten's Star).

Option 2 would not leave it lasting very long if there was a sufficient focus to bring the source of the incursions down rather than fighting its symptoms, unless invasions actually also contribute to its damage resistance. In which case, well, it would likely be unassailable for a minimum of two weeks.

In any case where the Thargoids don't limpwrist it, this is not going to be looking very happy or like it will be a quick resounding victory for the human side. I might prefer option 1 out of those 2, purely from the player side. And in any case Duamta is very much within the auto-capture radius so I will definitely be keeping an eye on how the Thargoids treat it... because, Aegis HQ location and where they have Seo. If they didn't move her as precaution.

Seriously, the constant whining about bugfixes is getting really tiresome. Can we concentrate on discussing about the game events? If you want to whine about lack of bugfixes, create a separate thread or something.
Well, but anyone here shares different wish-lists... i.e. honestly I don't care about "game events" at all and Sol can burn down to the Hell, as all that I care are the bug fixes affecting my daily game time.

Then create a thread about it. It's that simple.
