DLC 19 Speculation

I think a Chinese themed DLC would be pretty cool, while I prefer the idea of a South America pack I won’t lie. If done right I think it could be very cool.
  1. Golden snub nosed monkey
  2. Peere David’s deer
  3. Chinese alligator
  4. Golden pheasant
  5. Mandarin Duck
I mean with just these five animals I would be pretty darn happy.
A general east asia pack definetly also has potential to be something cool imo, as mandarin, golden pheasant and yellow throated marten are all pretty high on my wishlist.
But knowing my luck we will probably get the quinling panda before any of those 😄

throw in the yellow throated marten and the white naped crane and we would honestly get one of the best packs

Damoiselle crane is the superior crane 😜
They’re pretty cool didn’t realise they bred in east Asia thought they were only found in India although not sure if that qualifies them as East Asian animals, people would probably be quite surprised if we got a Egyptian Goose in a UK animal pack

Trying to think out of the box, what if next DLC focuses on animals that are found in several continents?

Multicontinental animal pack:
  1. Great white pelican (Africa, Asia and Europe)
  2. Walrus (North America, Asia and Europe)
  3. Ocelot (Souh and North America)
  4. Barbary macaque (Africa and Europe)
  5. Muskox (North America, Asia and Europe)
  6. Eurasian river otter (Europe, Asia and Africa)
  7. Caribbean flamingo (Souh and North America)
The scenery could be some maps (we only have the big Australia map from the Australia pack!) and foliage.

How about the black headed spider monkey? Ranges into both north and South America

So barbary macaque and american flamingo, both in the same pack? Yeah count me out.

Ocelot and flamingo, basically giving south america scraps when everyone else gets great animals.
Yeah. Not the pack for me tbh. Flamingo and ocelot are not really what south america needs. But i understand that the concept of the pack is animals that range in more than one continent. Brown pelican, roeseatte spoonbill, scarlet ibis and burrowing owl are all superior choices to the american flamingo in this context. Unfortunally i don't think the species of monkeys range on multiple continents but if we go more generic like saying instead of a specific species we get a howler monkey or a spider monkey then yes great.

I couldn't find any new world monkey that is present both in South America and North America (considering that the game puts Central America together with South America, so the monkey must be present at least in Mexico to be considered North American). If your proposal has the range covering both continents, then it's a much better choice than the barbary monkey, of course!

The black handed spider monkey would fit that description when ignoring subspecies, it ranges from Mexico to northern South America.

Popped back in here after a while just to collect thoughts.
Without thinking of crazy out of the box ideas, realistically, what is the next DLC? Give one idea for if the next one is the last one, give another if there is 2+ packs.

Honestly? Borderline no idea.

If I had to bet and put chips down, some sort of SA pack/ New World/ Latin America. As much as I think Frontier could potentially mess it up, I think they have seen the demand long enough.

If I can be delusional, an all birds pack haha. I mean we got Barnyard, a long requested theme, and ZooKeeper, which had long requested animals. Secretary bird is still around #1.

But I am not confident on anything, including how excited I will be about the next pack if I haven’t made that clear enough already.

White Nosed Coati must be addded to this somehow. It stretches to lower North America and to upper South American. If they did this kind of pack and it wasn't included it would be a travesty.

I think the most likely scenerio for one more pack is a second part to the ZK's dlc with a mix of requested animals.

If there are going to be more packs then i'm going with my theory of southern vs northern (hemispheres) animal packs (probably not with that name though)

I think Barnyard and ZK's kind of mirror and complement each other as opposites: one is all about domestic animals and guest interactivity that while presents in zoos are more associated with farms, the other is about "wild" animals in captivity and their caretakers.

So maybe next year's DLC also could be opposite and complementary of each other.

I think it's going to be another pretty "general" pack. I just don't see them focusing on any one specific region or biome to close things out. And I definitely don't see them ending things on a pack focused on a specific type of animal. Aviaries are going to be saved for the sequel; no way they add them at this stage.

Adaptations or Evolution has a shot. As does just calling it "Zookeeper 2." And, depending on what's been happening behind the scenes, that could make a lot of sense. Splitting a single pack into two, spread out over two DLC cycles, would allow PZ sales to spread across quarters while keeping things manageable from a resource perspective. And if they did the roster right (picking heavily from the wishlist top 10), went hard with some much-wanted scenery (more mesh, ample flexicolor; generic zoo props), combined with a free update that brought flexicolor to existing items and maybe added an interesting new feature? They could still go out with a "bang" while keeping the pack the same size.

If it's two packs? Then I do think there's a shot that we get a Latin America pack and then another, final "generic" pack. I like the hemisphere idea too! Same vibes as the old/new world idea without the baggage.

I'm still pretty convinced they're going to have a strong roster for the last one and may have deliberately saved a few of the "big guns" for something later down the line. But maybe I'm being too optimistic? Haha.

I think if it's just one pack it could be a general "World trip" pack with animals from different biomes and continents and islands. Maybe each creature from a different location.

If it were two packs my bet would be a collective Americas pack + a general one like World Trip or Adaptations.

If there is one last its probably another grab bag theme or something SA.

If there is two more i can see a duo of Rainforest and Savannah animal packs.
The former mostly consisting of mostly SA with some other animals from around the world like the tree kangaroo and the latter having rhea, mara, secretary, blackbuck and stuff. Could be a decent way to round up alot of requested animals but still have an actual theme rather than a random selection of animals

Most dlcs so far have had at least 1 or 2 very requested/top of meta wishlist animals

As of now the top 5 animals that haven't been added are
1. Secretary bird
2. Coati
3. NWM
4. Walrus
5. Tree kangaroo

So , I think the next 1 or 2 Dlc's will have atleast 1 of the above mentioned animals

Seeing the above animals the most likely themes would be

1. Savannah / safari / Scrubland
2. Arboreal / Latin - Central America / forest
3. Arboreal / Latin - Central America / forest
4. Tundra / Coastal
5. Arboreal / Forest

I think arboreal would be pretty solid because it can give us Coati , NWM , Tree kangaroo at once , problem with arboreal pack is that arboreal animals are hard for frontier to make

But , Between Zookeepers and DLC 19 ( Assuming April ) , they have around 6 - 7 months to make a dlc , So a Arboreal pack could be possible

Pack could look something like this

Arboreal Animal Pack
1. SA coati
2. NWM
3. Tree kangaroo
4. Ocelot
5. American black bear
6. Old world Monkey / Sumatran Orangutan
7. Yellow throated marten
