Your suggestion makes me press Like to replies of participants I usually disagree with. Please stop it....Dont be silly. It's a game - make it more fun - i.e. reduce the needless waste of time. For example - if you go searching for the other two mat types (Encoded + Raw) the search aspect is guaranteed a find. I think that the Manufactured Mat should be brought in line with the other two mat types - for consistency and time saving. Isn't that the goal of many of the new improvements? I guess you fly without SCO as a purist?
It is now easier than the other two material types. I used to walk uphill both ways (without legs) to HGEs after spending hours trying to find one, then after seeing what they were (and if they even had G5s) scroll through my materials to decide what to delete from a maxed list of materials I would need, to make room for what I needed more. It has already been made much, much easier (and thankfully so), to the point of being trivial. If there is to be any compromise between pull your hair out frustrating and creative mode, we are quickly running out of space between where we are and a creative mode. I say this to give you some perspective as to the pushback you are receiving, and in regards to the suggestion itself, if you have not guessed I do not see any need to make it simpler or easier.I mean that's just gone from silly to nonsense. The fun comes from time efficiency - subjectively in my opinion. Just bring it inline with the other two mat types. Doesn't seem a big deal or too much to ask.
Please do not simplify this more!Increase the frequency and proliferation of HGE signals. It's still a very frustrating aspect of the game than can easily be fixed, even when using this 3rd Party website: https://edgalaxy.net/hge
Once this is fixed, then ship engineering will truely be fixed.
What you're really proposing is being able to buy materials from commodities markets. So what is the process to find a specific HGE 100% of the time in the first system you jump to that should contain that specific HGE (based on whatever search criteria you are using)?
Players should absolutely be able to trade ship mats on their FC's imoWhat you're really proposing is being able to buy materials from commodities markets.
Absolutely. Every type of material should be available for trade from other players. But what the OP proposes, is equivalent to buying the mats from the commodities market, if he wants the absolute certainty that System X will have material Y.Players should absolutely be able to trade ship mats on their FC's imo
No idea I trade for specifics, my criteria for looking for HGEs is am I engineering something are there any in this system and is the ship fitted with collectors. Searching for any one thing is usually too much like workSo what is the process to find a specific HGE 100% of the time in the first system you jump to that should contain that specific HGE (based on whatever search criteria you are using)?
Subjectively I find time efficiency the enemy of fun in most cases.I mean that's just gone from silly to nonsense. The fun comes from time efficiency - subjectively in my opinion. Just bring it inline with the other two mat types. Doesn't seem a big deal or too much to ask.
You don't have to jump to another system. If you check and there are none, go back to the nav beacon. scan it again, super cruise, there will be one. HGEs ARE guaranteed in systems with the right state, the way you make them spawn, is by scanning the nav beacon.I know why they spawn - it's based in certain system criteria per HGE. Still would love to see them more prolific, more frequent, and perhaps guaranteed in systems 100% of teh time that meet those criteria - instead of having to jump to another system or take what ever HGEs I have and cross trade them (a work around to the above).
Just allow us to buy the worthless junk, rocks and spam data that is materials with credits, remove the engineers from the game, and allow all modifications at any outfitting station.

I logged on, FILL MAH BINS!They are easily obtained via missions.Well, easy for me anyway. Some won't be satisfied until Frontier pops them in care packages just for logging in every day.

The proper way to do it is to scan the navigation beacon of the system, which reveals all the signals in the system at once. After that, jump to supercruise and check your navigation panel. Filter it to show only signals. You'll very quickly see if there are any HGEs in the system, and you can target them from the panel.
