Can you sort of see the nose of the ship too (middle right) a bit?
You mean where the sparks are? Thought that too, but then you should also be able to catch a blink of the cockpit through the scaffolding in that area and there's nothing there but white plating. And that black spot (window?) on the side next to the second dude doesn't line up with anything, so I think that's actually still the middle of the ship.

Seeing how the right nacelle is almost out of frame on the left, I think the nose is far right and not visible (past the crates, in the smoky area).

I'm thinking more and more medium Clipper MKII.

The volunteer moderator posted "custom built ships confirmed" on page one of this thread. I hope he is serious.

Yum Yum. a new ship.
New Ship pRon incoming.

I have to say that i am extremely happy that Frontier are putting new ships into the game. A solid move.

Definately imperial. Looks at least 50 ft tall from top to bottom judging by the average (guess work) hight of the people ontop of the ship and those platform pods.

Im guessing Medium vessel, which we lack in the Imperial line up.

Muy emocionado!

Proper modern version of this, please:

What's wrong with SCO drives on older ships? They work. Yeah, gets a bit crispy and wobbly, but still a fantastic boost. You just need to be a bit more cautious with it.
Almost all (if not all) of the old ships overheat very quickly when in SCO mode, while the new ships don't (or at least the three newest don't, I think the Python Mk II might still do, although not as fast), so you can only use SCO in quite short bursts, unless you want constant module damage.

The old ships also consume huge amounts of fuel when in SCO mode, while in the newer ships the fuel consumption is moderate. For example with the Mandalay (without any extra fuel tanks) you can travel something like 1 Mls in constant SCO mode without running out of fuel, while with any of the old ships you might be able to travel one tenth of that.

I actually like these drawbacks because they feel natural. They don't feel unrealistic nor artificially shoved-in. Would I complain if they had never introduced those drawbacks? No. However, I'm not complaining that they did either.
