They did kinda tease it a bit more aggressively than they usually do ahead of the September livestream. Hard to tell if that's because they had the image teaser, because they were talking about the anniversary, or a combination of both. Probably the latter, TBH.

In all other instances it's been pretty vague. So I'll remain optimistic but expect that we may get nothing. Hah. That vibe will change for me if they post about the stream on PZ socials with that wide-eye emoji or emphasizing that there's exciting news or whatever.

Yeah historically it hasnt been great for that but it has gotten alot better recently but your point is valid

the difference between species 360 and zootierliste is interesting I wonder what causes zootierliste to overestimate zoos or species 360 to underestimate since species 360 is older and has always been global and zootierliste only recently became global.

This is also the almost exact order I visualised when I first went in to look at the numbers.

I'm with NachoB on this, this form of announcement/update just makes me anxious and concerned about being disappointed. I miss the old special livestream teasers that were not just lumped in with general updates and reporting on the last few months. I really miss staying up until 3am just to watch live with you all and make frantic guesses about what species were being teased. That was such a wonderful part of this game. It would be cool if Frontier would do that again, but send a cryptic script and clue box to their early-access Youtubers.

This format means that we can never be excited about the upcoming Unlocked, because maybe there's a tease, or an announcement, or maybe it's just "new bundle for console" or worse: "x console bundle released 3 weeks ago and we're going to read through the patch notes from 2 weeks ago." And it's all read out by staffers with soulless, detached delivery that makes it obvious that they could not care less about the game or its contents, so long as they get a paycheck out of it.

I'm also pretty sure that no "exciting news" or emojis means this is just another bog standard Unlocked with no new DLC.

I’m sure there will be something for PC players since they don’t exclusively say console players only. That being said it’s pretty much guaranteed they will talk about console players cause they need to announce the final bundle for March.

The worst outcome is them just saying “don’t worry something is still coming.” The decent outcome is a video hinting at 1 or 2 animals, and the best outcome is the art of the pack. I’m confident we won’t get the pack announcement this week, just a teaser.

But man with no special livestreams, the lackluster new stream format and the likelihood of the next pack being just another grab collection type pack, speculation just doesn’t feel as fun as it used to. Nonetheless I am still excited for what they’ve been cooking.

I was confused why I can't find one on January but now it's confirmed the February one is the first one of the year. Good for them, I hope they had respectful time for holidays!

I am hopeful for some at least tiny bit of a teaser for the next DLC as we are reaching the classic schedule between them. Of course, new year and Zookeeper pack might mean they will set up a new/longer schedule or new type of DLCs but my hopes are high for now.

I am totally open for any content for the DLC as long as the support wont die 😁
I would try to predict the update could be about giving zookeepers little cars to reach places quicker, and with that new transport design for quests like new safari cars, trains and such.
However sounds like a lot of work and if the team is smaller and just want to do smallest projects then I would gladly predict some animal 'clones' like grévy's zebra, asiatic lion, other giraffe another wolf, bear or deer. I don't see them as clones but more wonderful variety to get closer to a real zoo.
What I would wish for would be native american/wild west build pieces plus animals suitable for this topic and a slight bison rework.
