Of course, many, many player groups started the land grab with pre-selected targets.

Leaving us solo players left out.

This thread is for losers like me.

Here's my "lost system": HIP 79346

Loaded with gas giant rings brimming with stuff, this is a mining playground.

Please share your tales of being cheated of destiny! :)

Unfortunately as my desired locations are much further out my destiny has as yet not been cheated from me.

I am looking at it not so much as them stealing my choice location but more them tripping over all the stumbling blocks and booby traps while at the same time providing more starting locations for me to choose from further from the bubble.

Honestly whenever I went exploring I'd usually go like 40,000 light years away, so while my cool discoveries are out there. And whenever I was in the bubble I'd basically only jump from inhabited system to inhabited system, so when I went to look for nearby systems I could claim, I hadn't even visited any of them.

Suffice to say, I'm not exactly too bummed out just yet. Besides, I'm sure there's any number of really nice systems just a few light years away from the bubble. If I have to make a few colonies to get there, that's no biggie.

I did find another system. Only 13 LY from Borscht. I'm glad they caved on the 10 LY restriction.

Started with the (industrial) outpost. It is in a system with lots of GG rings to be mined. Six hours of casual trucking tonight.

Scorpii Sector SE-Q b5-2 is where I'm building. Over 20% complete.

Steel
Titanium
Ceramic Composites
And, of course, CMM Composites.

I think I'll have to buy a T9. Blech.

Wait for, oooh, probably a month. The novelty system grab will be over, those who really enjoy it will soldier on, everyone else will slip away, and the number of systems available for colonisation will be more than it was on day one. Because the bubble will be larger and less people will be doing it.

Haha, yeah. I had a nice one bookmarked. But by the time I got on the game Wednesday someone else grabbed it. I spent the rest of the day surveying systems until I finally found one meeting most of what I wanted. Two gas giants with metallic and icy rings, a number of moons, Earthlike worlds, and atmospheric world with plants. So I guess it all worked out in the end.

Note: I live next to a cemetery over a kilometer on a side.

I know 3 players who started delivering to 'their' system, only to find someone else had suddenly stolen their claim and they were no longer the system architect.

Jackson's Lighthouse was unfairly denied to me! :D Probably because such unique systems are not colonizable, just like The Great Annihilator and other important systems. No worries, I'll find some other system to put my name upon as architect.
