Elite Dangerous | System Colonisation Claim Pause

Im wondering why my fleet carrier is drifting away from me faster than I can boost:unsure:. I tried relogging, no help. its faster than me lol
That happens when an orbiting station comes within 1000km or so of your FC: you are captured by the station's gravity and move together with it (check your distance from it, and you'll see it stays the same), while the FC is idle (doesn't orbit).
The only thing to do is to wait until the station gets far enough, or move the FC.

I just hope they eventually are able to fix the issue without having to revert all the systems already built...

Thank you Cmdr, I managed to get dropped in at 10km , but couldn’t get close enough to request docking . I might have to call it to a different planet . I’ll give it one more go tonight.

Despite the critical issue causing the colonsation claim pause, FDev probably also needs to assess the implications of these just released statistics as well:

"Brewer Corporation has released the official figures on the initial colonisation rush:
  • 26,684 Claims have been made
  • 13,165 Systems have been colonised
  • 24,037 New starports and outposts have been built
  • 14,216 Surface installations have been established
  • 983,599,593 Units of cargo have been delivered to construction sites"

EDIT:

If this pre-colonisation data below is correct, the Bubble has grown tremendously, in only a couple of weeks.

"The Core Systems (aka The Bubble), is a sphere of about 150 light years around Sol where powers compete for influence, resources, territory and control. The territory volume is about 13.8 million cubic light years, and encompasses over 20,000 inhabited systems with over 66,000 stations, starports and outposts."

ditto but equally i hope everyone who deliberately cheated and doubly so if it was them who caused this pause for everyone else get permanent account bans.

yeah, i asked a question along these lines elsewhere

ok, i get that its a beta and that you are looking for bugs, exploits, cheats, and unexpected happenings of all kinds.

but what happens when you move to the all-done stage? what happens to those CMDR's that have found some explote for personal gain? what happens to their stuff?

They probably stopped the claim of new systems to let us build structures within the systems and test what is the core of colonization ;)
When they have enough data they will reactivate everything

Despite the critical issue causing the colonsation claim pause, FDev probably also needs to assess the implications of these just released statistics as well:
Cargo delivery rate at 3x that of the most popular trade CG of all time, and 10x that of a more typical high-popularity one, with a minimum of 18k players claiming a system in that first week and likely a bit more than that (26k total claims, minus the 8k completed when they paused it, so all the incomplete claims at that point must have been by different people)

I expect the main thing to assess is "how can we do that again with the next feature?"

Close enough (depending on exactly how you define the bubble)

Ian, what faction has colonized the most? Weird question- what is the longest chain of new colonizations?

Ian, what faction has colonized the most?
Canonn, with over 300 new systems.

(Combination of a large bubble-edge position before colonisation, and their own projects)

Weird question- what is the longest chain of new colonizations?
Canonn's chain out towards Polaris, I think.
Dukes of Mikunn's chain towards Lagoon Nebula is only slightly shorter.
There are some other big structures of new systems outside the old bubble but they're more clouds of colonisation around existing out-of-bubble systems which happened to get a contact, rather than single-direction chains.

Hi folks, we appreciate you are eager to know more on the Colonisation pause. We don't have anything to announce right now as investigations are still ongoing. We are not able to offer a timetable at this time. Rest assured that as soon as we can share more we will let everyone know.
Alright, I'll go play other things while y'all work on that, then. Maybe with fewer players and less going on, it'll be easier for y'all to sort and get back online as quickly as possible.

I need this back up as quickly as possible to keep playing. It's WEIRD how much emptier the game feels to me without colonization! XD

Also, can we pay 20,000 Arx to rename the star? I got 221 stars to go through to get to where I want to go, and I intend on renaming all the stations and, if allowed, all the stars en route. What's that add up to in real money for you guys?

But this is expected. On the other hand - most of the constructions are small outposts and tier 1 cheapest constructions. I can spawn small cheapest thing as a solo player in a 4-6hrs. On the other hand. Anything closer to tier 2 would take me a week of intense play time. Not to mention tier 3 - it's intense one month playtime for solo player. Or more realistic - 2-3 months of somewhat engaged play style. There is a lot more of big stations in base systems. I think that the bubble "constructions" and economy increased maximum a 5% of a realistic scale. I think lot less

4-6 hours doesn't seem reasonable even if you are just loading and unloading an already filled carrier.

after the 10th load transferred, how are you still docking at the same 5 min per cycle rate while watching TV or falling asleep?

if you're actually having to source items then you are really just lying. even if you know all the places that sell what you need without looking, other player activities are also tanking the supply of certain items even after the recent buff to cmm's. and that's assuming you aren't using a carrier and having to wait for the jump and do double the transfers.

solo outposts are more realistically being done in a couple weeks with scattered game time.

and once you do the first one, it's very unlikely the enthusiasm to speed grind it again exists.

a very small population of players, if any, are solo speed grinding multiple systems.

but i do believe most of the new colonies are just outposts and will always be just outposts. the activity isn't fun and the reward isn't good enough to outweigh the cost. what we've seen activity wise in this beta is as active as this mechanic will ever be... unless it changes significantly on one or both of these aspects.

I'm on the complete other end of the spectrum, a small 5k ton structure would probably take 2-3 hours for me, and thats mainly just from sourcing all the junk! Weeks for an outpost sounds insane... Whats your setup? I'm running a 784 ton cutter with YT on in the background and both flight computers, and i'm able to move thousands of tons pretty fast. Is your station parked super far out?
