DLC 19 Speculation

Okay, initial thoughts:

Firstly, I was very much expecting another grab-bag like Zookeeper's with a lot of the high-tier community faves like tree kangaroo, secretary bird, howler, you get the idea, but obviously I was very wrong.

We are LONG overdue for an American pack and this is pretty intriguing. Going animal by animal:
  1. Coyote - PZ had infamous reputation for an abundance of canids, and but we haven't seen one since 2022 so I think throwing a bone to the dog crowd is okay. Besides, it's a coyote! One of the most iconic creatures of the Americas. Warner Bros can learn a lesson or two from Frontier here...
  2. Rhea - so...I know I'm Godfather of the Bird Mafia, but...I personally think the rhea is boring af, it's just a slightly smaller ostrich. NOW WITH THAT SAID. I know it's a very, very popular choice and the greater bird community has wanted to complete the ratite roster for a long time.
    And most importantly, my biggest gripe with the game - that the Americans had no continental endemic birds is now null and void.
  3. Bighorn Sheep - At this point, an ungulate seems to be an inevitability with all DLCs and this is a pretty strong choice. A ZT legacy animal is always welcomed.
  4. Flamingo - Now THIS I can get behind! I know I probably sound wildly hypocritical for badmouthing the rhea but a second flamingo is more my speed than a third large ratite.
I'm not monkeying around with the saki until we get proper confirmation. But all in all, I do think intriguing is the right word. And I'm eager to see what direction the game will go starting with this pack and beyond!

Guess who decided to take a "short nap" before the stream started and totally slept through the first half of it? Whoops...

Anyhoo... I'm actually optimistic about this pack! The coyote is neat, the bighorn is AWESOME, and two highly requested birds is something I never expected to happen... but here we are! I do hope we get something less clone-y for our other picks, obviously. I won't get my hopes up for anything in particular though.

Also, I hastily whipped up this image for anyone having trouble seeing what is ALMOST CERTAINLY a heavily stylized white-faced saki in the papel picado.

Losing My Lunch

This doesn’t scream “last pack” to me. This also is DLC19, and we now know the bundle structure is continuing since they mentioned the African Leopard is coming with the “next bundle.”

So I wonder if we get another Season Pass, or if it gets thrown into the existing one because technically the Eurasia + Oceania Pack was the last possible bundle for the Season Pass.

Barnyard + Zookeeper would be next logically in term of console bundles, but again, Eurasia + Oceania was the last one for the Season Pass.

I get that not every DLC is for everyone and that's 100% okay; but there is such a thing as being overly negative and claiming that a Saki is not a visually distinct monkey from the ones we have ingame is for sure that.

Honestly be negative if you want to be, you are entitled to your own opinion and it keeps the conversation going.

For me, this is so far the exact kind of pack I have been wanting. At least in terms that I will have more variety for my birds and new world monkey.

Britches loved getting the Pallas cat in ZooKeeper, I thought the whole pack was meh. 🤷

It’s good to not just parrot everyone else, and I can totally see why this pack would be far from anyone’s thing.

That could reasonably be argued for several other animals, though. The gator looks like the caiman and the saltie. The emu looks like an ostrich. The wallaby looks like the kangaroo. The jaguar looks like both leopards. The whole game is filled with clones

It's generally black with a lighter cream face, basically the capuchin

Okay, I'm going like, directly going to build my dlc zoo right now! I always make some "showcase" zoos for me to see all the dlc animals, and oh boy, I'm going to right now, not wasting a minute!!! The face-blob on the front of whatever animal is depicted here looks an awful lot like a monkey face to me, but oh my goodness, if we actually got a vulture in PZ1 I would scream in delight.
