DLC 19 Speculation

Exciting and all, I'm actually pleasantly surprised with the bighorn sheep and rhea, two good animals. Coyote's very unexpected.

I have such mixed feelings about the possible saki. On one hand, it's a wonderful monkey, and finally a new world one at that! But at the same time, not my first or even fifth or six choice. I know a spider monkey would've been technically difficult, but the howler or spider monkey...? Much more flexible, fun, well-known, so on. Also would've much preferred one of them to the saki. But hey, maybe they'll do a two-primate lineup like they did in the last pack, or add a new world monkey as the anniversary animal since the base game lacks any. Still -- the white faced saki is a charming little guy.

Barring any more primates, white faced coati + mara would be killer!

(i hate to be this negative. I really didn't want to. But this pack has easily dethroned South America in terms of my least favourite DLC)
I'm sorry. I had those packs as well. It's frustrating.

But... I'm curious... can you explain to me why you see the Flamingo and the Big Horn Sheep as something we "already have" while the Nandu is... not the Emu or the Ostrich? What makes it more unique to you?

Its noteworthy that just going off the 5 we have now, none of them are high on the meta wishlist. So either they are hiding the meta wishlist animal (likely since it could be the coati plus kinda hard to put that one on a banner) or they have just completely ignored the meta wishlist which I find unlikely. Because of this I'd say the coati is extremely likely.

That could reasonably be argued for several other animals, though. The gator looks like the caiman and the saltie. The emu looks like an ostrich. The wallaby looks like the kangaroo. The jaguar looks like both leopards. The whole game is filled with clones
I can see where you're coming from, but this time it's particularly extreme.
The bighorn and the flamingo are very obvious clones - perhaps even more than the two caimans.

And the headliner being the coyote makes me very worried for the remaining two animals... So far we only have one (or maybe two) unique animals in this pack, and only one of these is particularly prominent in the key art. This makes me think that the final two animals might be clones as well.

It's generally black with a lighter cream face, basically the capuchin

Yes they're the same colours but that doesn't make them the same at all.

Agree. coati almost certainly one of the two other slots
With ABB or ocelot (or Mara but less likely) taking up the last

The saki and rhea are insanely exciting, I don't really care for another flamingo or the coyote and I'm cool with the bighorn, in general I'm pretty positive on this pack (tbh at this point of the game I have given up on anything unique coming our way so disappointing me is very hard lmao). If the other two animals left are a coati and another smaller South American mammal I'll be very happy, won't ever surpass any animal pack but I'm not disappointed with what it seems we are getting.

Oh come on, these are different and you know it.

Again, all my respect to you for not liking a DLC, you haven't liked any of the DLCs lately and you're 100% in your right to do so and I'll always defend that. But claiming these two are basically the same is just ill-will.
Honestly, I've liked all of the latest DLCs.
Barnyard was fun and it introduced a whole new way of designing habitats; Zookeeper had some fun animals, filling some noticeable gaps in the roster.
As a huge fan of European wildlife, Eurasia was amazing, and Oceania might be my favourite pack of all time.

But as for the monkeys...
I've said before that I don't find monkeys particularly interesting, especially New World ones. Still, they could have at least picked any monkey with a different colour scheme, like a tamarin or a howler monkey. Instead, we're getting a monkey with the exact same colours as the one we already have. From a distance they'll look virtually indistinguishable.
This is what I'm trying to say. Any other colour would have worked better

I already wrote this, but the Coyote is actually a pretty good pick for the cover art. It probably has no connection to there not being more unique animals but more of:
1. We did not get a dog on any cover yet, unlike for example Coati, would be similar to Raccoon from Twillight.
2. Coyote is a very well known animal.
3. Dogs and Cats sells.
