I think it'd be possible for there only to be about half a dozen ships in the game, and be able to say something similar about any suggestion to add anything new. But many of the ships over and above that half dozen would be much loved. Sometimes it'd be for relatively narrow, personal reasons – like someone whose mining patience caps out at 100-150t preferring a mining ship that's slightly smaller and more agile than whatever meta one was in the half dozen.Well I'm a miner now on T8 (lately noticed that my patience is only enough to fill 100-150 tons) and that's half of what you described.
As for the multi-purpose pirate I don't agree at all, Corsair (even the name) is the way to go.
Didn't really understand about the size of the gun.I think it'd be possible for there only to be about half a dozen ships in the game, and be able to say something similar about any suggestion to add anything new. If the T8 is only half of what I've described, then it really isn't that close... you can mine in it, but a Class 4 distributor and only a single Medium hardpoint (the efficient size for mining) doesn't make a mining ship. The optional internal layout definitely isn't optimised for mining either (less good than the Corsair is for it, actually). You're not wrong for liking mining in it, but I actually think that validates the message that a dedicated mining ship would be popular – people like a range of things, not just a Python or Corsair for everything.
For the second point, we're describing different size ships. Yeah, in a world without the Vulture you could hear someone say they want a small, agile combat ship with a Class 5 distributor and some big guns, and you could say "I don't agree at all, Fer-de-Lance is the way to go", but they're very different ships. (Obv. I'm talking about a small medium pad ship and not a small pad ship... my biggest doubt is that I might just describing "Asp Scout but good", but I want a Constrictor dammit.)
Yeah, but the class 2 laser is a lot better than the class 1. Your Type-8 might suit you fine, but it's far from the best mining ship even compared to combat multi-roles. Saying the existence of the Type-8 invalidates the idea of a dedicated mining ship is, to me, a bit like saying the existence of the Asp Explorer invalidates the idea of a dedicated combat ship.Didn't really understand about the size of the gun.
All miner weapons are also class 1 except for seismic missiles, but there is such a slot there. Miner's Lance and special mining laser are also class 1.
As for PD, I use 4 miner lance and I have enough PD.
So maybe this is a major difference in philosophy. Would you say the game might as well not have the Vulture in it, as you just see the FDL as a better Vulture? I'm glad the game has both, and I fly both.I don't really understand further, FDL is an improved Vulture, both are played from shield.
Diamondback Explorer: "Am I a joke to you? It's in my name!"Small exploration: Cobra or Hauler
I've got:
Q3: Moray Starboat Mk 2
[...]
We call that one the Cobra Mk V.Viper Mk5.

You gotta admit that just after Colonization's launch YouTube was flooded with facts that ended up to being wild speculation and ultimately wrong and misleading.Auch.
I recently tidied up my fleet, to make room on my FC for the new SCO native ships.Would you say the game might as well not have the Vulture in it, as you just see the FDL as a better Vulture?
I like the Vulture (the only ship I have two of, one in the bubble and one in Colonia) it is good sniper's nest and its defenses have allowed me to escape catastrophe on several occasions.I recently tidied up my fleet, to make room on my FC for the new SCO native ships.
I even scrapped 2 of my Couriers (leaving only 4), but neither Vulture or FDL loadouts went to the great shipyard in the sky...
The Vulture (and Viper IV) are just too much fun to not have!

Sounds like a first galaxy problemThe number of ships you can store on your FC is too damn low!
Once i buy the CM5 i'm going to have to decide which of my ships to dock at a station. Also, on DW3, i'm parking all my ships on the official FCs, so will need to park on two of them instead of one.
I had a bunch of ships parked in useful locations, as well as a full FC load.Once i buy the CM5 i'm going to have to decide which of my ships to dock at a station.
