CitizenCon Direct is shaping up to be a ~2-hour digital showcase, going live at 8 PM UK time (BST) / 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET on October 11. It’ll be streamed free on Twitch and YouTube, packed with reveals, surprises, and dense content from start to finish—every minute counts!

Even the mighty Idris can't meet the statue budget this year apparently...

Hmm, datamining suggests the new 'blades' will include ship performance boosts...

Anyone taking bets on a dollar sign resting next to these? ;)

It's fine, it's just 'pay to play better'

Everyone was right not to take the bet ;)

What Flight Blade types are available?
Currently, there are two types: Precision Handling Balanced (PHB) Flight Blades, focused on maneuverability, and Top Speed Balanced (TSB) Flight Blades, focused on speed.
Translation: We can't release the turret AI, as the solo Idris captains would kill the servers. This will earn $$ just fine though.

Which ships can equip Flight Blades?
The following ships will be the first to have compatible Flight Blades, with more to come:
Aegis Gladius series
Aegis Avenger series
Aegis Redeemer
RSI Scorpius series
Argo MPUV series
Anvil Arrow
Anvil Pisces series
Aegis Hammerhead
Translation: This system is a pain to implement

Can Flight Blades be used across entire ship families?
Flight Blades are version-specific, meaning they’re designed for specific ship models [...]
Translation: These will never get fully rolled out, and will break with the new Flight model.

Will Flight Blades be available to purchase from in-game stores?
Yes, Flight Blades will become available in in-game stores for aUEC following the end of their pledge-exclusive availability, similar to how we introduce new vehicles.
Translation: Yes, this is the standard FOMO P2W technique. Move along, move along.

TLDR: Another classic Tier 0 soft launch, with a $ sign attached...

2nd hand dev gossip is intriguing.

2nd hand dev gossip with a comprehensive white-knight-slap? That's even better ;)

If you think SC actually takes a billion dollars to develop, I have a bridge to sell you. I know a ton of current and ex-CIG devs, the amount of waste on this project for menial, useless crap, is mind-blowing. This entire project is run via Hollywood accounting. 13 years and a billion dollars later and still can't release a single player campaign.

Names and specifics or you are full of crap. I've been to the Manchester offices specifically, there's no waste. I read the Companies House UK documents, show me the waste.
There's only "waste" if you think devs should be sweatshopped and pimped for all they have with no comfort or real recompense.

I've been going to CIG offices for over a decade when they were originally operating out of Santa Monica. Then they moved to Hayden Tract, 200ft away from the company I worked at at the time. Watch the Livestream from the first Idris sale ever announced, I'm there sitting next to CR, teaching him how to open a beer with a lighter.

My friends were working on crap for weeks or months at 6 figures that served zero purpose but to showcase the ships you couldn't even fly at the time. ALL of that work has been scrapped, not one piece of it remains, due to the fact that CIG was dead set on providing a material feedback loop for people spending money on the game vs. just developing the game. Tens of not hundreds of millions of dollars has been wasted on useless bullcrap like this over the last 13 years.

I still have friends who work there, in high level positions, they're bullish on the overall project but not idiots who think it's been managed well, but they are also not going to push back on CR because at the end of the day, they're getting paid unless they voice those concerns.

I haven't been following this closely. Can someone explain it to me like I'm five? :)

Ships getting wiped is a myth. This guy survived the update with no issues...
Needs more acrobatics:
Another possibility could be some losses are on purpose as players flood the market with stuff/Mil/Stealth/A Grade Components and ships etc and that doesn't suit CIG's plans (think economy) and rather than say anything and cause a nuclear dumpster fire, CIG just keep quite and let the playerbase make up their own explanations for the loses.
It's not a bug, you see. It's the Verse Bank balancing a nonexistent economy.
