Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

So the PTU started with these mission refactors...

Mission Meshing Refactor: Comm Array (Hack/Repair), Animal Missions, Multi-Location Courier, and Handyman, PVP bounties.

And managed:

Mission Refactor Updates (PVP Bounties, Repair Missions, and Animal Missions)

Courier and handyman didn't even make the cut, and bounties are borked. That's one sleek pipeline for old content ;)

(Who wants to lay money on animals borking out within a week too )

Oh and the markers / functionality had gone again from a bunch of the existing missions in 4.1.0:

Don't see anything about HeadHunter missions being bugged, such as: - 50k, 150k salvage missions not having markers - Fuel tanks not spawning on 'Destroy XenoThreat fuel reserves' mission - And many other merc missions being without marker.

Odds on them being fixed in 4.1.1?

(Refactor V2 when? ;))

PS always good to see Douglas Adams's favourite turn of phrase in there...

So backers are interpreting this as: player Idrises from tomorrow

Assuming it's not just another bait & switch (sale tour / NPC Idris / sale price hike etc), I forsee more issues for the year of stability ;)

(If the Polaris mission is already hammering clients, a bunch of whales dusting off their pledges is gonna cause one helluva disturbance in the farce...)

Oh my, there are some very excited backers on the sub. All lining up their piggy banks for tomorrow it seems. (Or whenever the inevitable sale unveils itself).

This is gonna pay for some SQ42 mocap for sure...

(Unless the cost of burning servers runs out of control I guess ;))

And then there were 2...

But at least the cargo grids are getting unwonked.

(For a bit ;))

Ships getting wiped is a myth. This guy survived the update with no issues...

LOL, literally an example of the only way to win is not to play.

This ship is flyable today? Imagine the server, instance issues, bugs with lots of players in 1 capital ship unless it's a separate level.

This ship is flyable today?

That's what CIG are suggesting yeah. (Hence the stocky gentleman at the end, proudly at the helm ;))

Imagine the server, instance issues, bugs with lots of players in 1 capital ship unless it's a separate level.

Yeah players are already noting that the comparable Polaris has been wrecking performance at ground locations, where proud owners have just been sitting there merrily nuking any other players daring to stray in. (Not helped by the fact that some proto-engineering exploit meant they could toggle their, already absurd, shields on and off and make them impenetrable).

The Polaris has already shown at how broken this can be for the PU.
The Idris will just amplify all those problems.

Hathor was nearly unplayable because of the Polaris. A ship thats even tankier and comes with a death laser? That’s not going to help.
when polaris came out it caused so many damn issues. esspessially on lower end computers. if you got near one. frames died by 25%. polarises plagued every where with no proper counter to it. and high point of interest they were there and practically annoying to take down without a group or another polaris. and ofc people did the idiotic thing and solod the damn thing. and polarises made pvp engagments annoying. for example. fighting at hathor locations with your frames dieng cause people got there polaris touched by a1s and they are just sitting on the ground causing super large frame lose. now idris is going to be worse.

(Such posts are naturally getting downvoted by fleets of defensive captains ;))

Get ready for more landing gear graveyards... and dynamically unplayable events...

This experience is only intensifying...

(Stay til the end ;))

[Naturally CIG have already foreshadowed that the Idris will punch above the Polaris with that vid, despite the Polaris being a 'capital ship killer'. So here come the nerfs too ;)].

Performance-limited sale offer 😁

Invictus Launch Week 2955 - Imperator Test Flight:

With Invictus Launch Week 2955, the mighty Idris arrives as Aegis' newest flyable ship. We know you're looking forward to putting this new capital ship through its paces, and wanted to share some news with you regarding the rollout of the Test Flight for Imperator Subscribers.

For those with an active Imperator subscription, the Imperator Test Flight allows you to try out every new ship and ground vehicle for a full week upon release. Once Invictus concludes, these player accounts will have access to the Idris for an entire week, as stated in the description of the Imperator Test Flight. We appreciate your understanding as we work to ensure the best possible performance in the persistent universe for everyone, and can't wait to have this long-awaited capital ship in your hands.
