Store scrubbing paint jobs again?

This says the discounted sale has a time limit, not that stuff would be discontinued altogether.

Well judging from the fact that the Chrome PJs are currently missing from both the Corvette and the Corsair pages (and likely others as well), despite being previously available to buy, I'd say that the intended meaning includes the PJs leaving the store.

Yet the Midnight Black PJ is still available for the Sidewinder and the Corvette. How the devil does that make sense?!

I think the wording was quite unambiguous. Discount offers are a common thing and usually temporary in nature. I can't read this in any way which would mean removal.

At any rate, I was thinking of giving this to a second avatar to be newly created, which implies buying some extra ARX for it. This will now not happen. Same thing as with other projects already talked about earlier, that I would have gladly spent a few bucks on but they took just the items away I had shortlisted before I wanted to commit. I guess I'll wean myself from trying again and just remain a free player until I see a change there. Probably will have plenty of free ARX by then.

It's like someone said "We're putting all the limited PJs on store permanently!" and then the marketing guys all had seizures so they slowly backed away and let them have their FOMO again.

So, why are they making Paints go away?
Remember the Iridescent Paints, where are they these days?
I thought that I'd got a couple of them, but I don't see them at all.

I could sit here and point out a whole bunch of Legal S### that would make everyone's heads spin, but...
The removal of Items from the Store can, in some contexts, be considered as 'unprofessional' business practice.

Certain Countries don't like FOMO Business Practice in general, so, if those countries finish passing those laws into effect, then companies like Frontier will have to either stop operating in those regions, or stop FOMO Exploiting the Player Base.

It's one thing if its a Collaboration thing.
For example, if for the 50th Anniversary of Hello Kitty the two companies work out a collaboration for a limited time, that's fine.
Since any Paints that would be released during that time would be expected, out of the gate, to be considered 'Limited' Stock.
It would genuinely have been hilarious if there were a Hello Kitty Themed Corvette running around, or even a whole Space Station dedicated to it, LOL.
Imagine that, being chased around space by a Corvette painted in the Hello Kitty Livery, complete with Pink or Red Thrusters, and Pink or Red Lasers.
That would be quite hilarious, but then, I like Anime, so, I find that sort of thing funny.
Heck, a Nyan Cat themed Corvette would actually be slightly more harrowing to face up against.

This is different though, there is no contractual reason for the items to be removed from the Store.
So, why are they being removed?

Rockstar found this out when a small country with big ambition tried to pull them over for 'False Advertising' of their GTA-V, which now no longer has one of the vehicles that is posted on the front cover of the box, and in stores. The only reason Rockstar got away with it was on the basis that the vehicle in question was still technically in the Game, and most notably in the Single Player. However, it was considered as unprofessional on the part of Rockstar.

Umm, yea. So they were meant to be temporary from start? Is this information here on the official forum? I don't follow social media.
FD are known to "announce" certain stuff in weird, broken ways.
One symptom of this is that there's an actual forum thread here with copies of the stuff FD have chosen to say on Xitter (for those people who aren't on there, for whatever reason) but not here.

Of course I could have either missed or just forgotten about it. However I do try and search before complaining but if there is no meaningful search term to find the needle in a haystack, what do you do. The above was literally a question, so if there's an actual forum thread here, would someone kindly have a link?

Has always seemed a bit... "obtuse" to me.

Think I've said before, I'm on a Land Rover forum where you can change your settings to display a couple of sidebars, one of which displays snippets of LR-related news and the other displays snippets of social-media posts from forum affiliates.

I mean, ideally, you'd think FDev might consider people who're members here to be their most loyal supporters and deliberately post info' here but, even if we accept that isn't going to happen, a similar sidebar (displaying snippets of FDev's social media posts) would alert members to the stuff FDev is announcing elsewhere.

Obtuse, I see. Here is the link that got overlooked or ignored, don't remember. It's not even official, and doesn't quote any content, only the links to social media posts. No criticism intended to the Cmdrs taking the time to provide these, great service. But there is no chance to come across this by searching the forum for content keywords or staff posts.

Anyway, I now also removed the bookmark to the store because the constant checking back there began to feel almost obsessive-compulsive after having learned that you cannot plan purchases ahead. If I find something I want to buy it will be pure happenstance or word of mouth. Cheers to great sales strategy 😂

Sorry, I should have linked it. To be clear: my post was critical of the crappy and bizarre behaviour of FD in this regard, and not in any way critical of you.
It's lame, annoying and stupid for FD to post ED-relevant news content on Xitter but not here.
