Sea turtles do require water to eat, granted, though they're definitely far more terrestrial than epaulette shark. Heck, they literally require land to breed and sunbathe. Conversely, epaulette sharks never need to leave the water if conditions remain satisfactory.

So does every amphibian and all river turtles doesn't stop them from being kept on land or coming up as suggestions for habitat animals.

I'm quite surprised about some of these like the japanese macaque, the swan, the skunk, the wallaby and the wild boar.
ZT2 had ambient fish join the aquariums.
TBF, the ambient fish just kinda... showed up. And they usually left as quickly as they arrived.

In fairness, the game is only ever officially called "Zoo Tycoon" (and "Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection" for the Absobo re-release). The suffix is just added to distinguish it from the 2001 Zoo Tycoon.

But, the game itself isn't bad as long as you don't compare it to the original games. I'd say it's more comparable to World of Zoo

I found the game alright though it has not aged well at all especially the models which never held up to much scrutiny such as both alpacas breeds having the exact same model.
I remember the giant sable antelope, Florida panther, and gemsbok, but not the rest. The game always just referred to them as the gray wolf, ostrich, moose, meerkat, red panda, etc.
the game has full taxonomic classification for them, the moose is definitely accurate given the range map ingame only shows north america and if you use radical remake a staple of modern zt2 the barren ground caribou is renamed to fit its taxonomy.
