But not if you use the Panther Clipper to load up fleet carriers or cover intrasystem colonization projects, which it looks like it will be very well suited for.Size 7 FSD....so basically say goodbye to at least 32t of cargo for a size 5 FSD booster, or the laden jump range will be truly abysmal.
Yes, but they mentioned about two (additonal) optionalls locked for specialized cargo or fuel tanks, so...
The info rolling in from the partners also supports the version of one each of the listed 7 and 8 is a special one. Don't get your hopes up.I need to listen it again, but it would be werid if this ship has more hardpoints than any other ship, but only 10 normal optionals (as a cargo hauler, when T-9 has 11...). It doesn't sounds like any other new ships design.
Just very roughly, putting in Flight Assists in the small slots, Fuel Scoop and FSD Booster in the 5s, and a Shield, gets you 1024-1088 tonnes in a 'cosy' build. As one of the Chris' said "If you want to haul 1000", you can... but with all of the modern luxuries, like shields, HRP / MRP fitted, 1000 may be just barely.
It made me chuckle!So clever.
50% more than the largest hauler is so bad that you'd rage quit?If it hauled 2 more tons than the Cutter it would still be the "the largest hauler". So what? Yes, I and others have made our expectations clear. Quite clear. I should have known, what a massive bait and switch job by FDEV. They just HAD to bow to the 'power creep' fearmongers...
yeah but you're old. You probably chuckle at dad jokes. It made me chuckle!
Without the hull mass we can't be sure, but even a C6 Prismatic (ala cutter) may not give much protection, relatively speaking.Just very roughly, putting in Flight Assists in the small slots, Fuel Scoop and FSD Booster in the 5s, and a Shield, gets you 1024-1088 tonnes in a 'cosy' build.
The variance of course being whether it can even fit a Size 6 Shield, or need to lose a Size 7 slot for it.
We'll find out in a month. Size 6 shields can cover up to 1,350 ton hull size.Just very roughly, putting in Flight Assists in the small slots, Fuel Scoop and FSD Booster in the 5s, and a Shield, gets you 1024-1088 tonnes in a 'cosy' build.

The thing is, should I crumple and buy one for credits, I'd give it that as a name.yeah but you're old. You probably chuckle at dad jokes.
Don't worry. I do too.The thing is, should I crumple and buy one for credits, I'd give it that as a name.
And, yes, I chuckle at dad jokes too...
You missed my point.
Listen here (links to 1:10:45)
"two size 7 and two size 8s, something special about those ones..."
So the clear implication is the "special slots" are already included in the already listed size 7 and 8 slots.
The largest hauler however is very sturdy (with hull reinforcements in military slots) and quite fast (so no NPC pirates pose any threat, so the station approach and departure is faster, etc.)50% more than the largest hauler is so bad that you'd rage quit?
Being honest, I don't think it should ever need a fuel scoop unless you're covering distances greater than 200+ ly. I'd use the C4 slot for an FSD booster or hull/module reinforcement and maybe stick one of the latter into a C5 slot as well - unless a C6 shield (if it can hold one that size) and engineered HD armor on it is sufficient for any NPC encounter - because I occasionally like to shoot back at those annoying pirates. I don't bother with the T9 because it's a hog and only has medium hardpoints, this one might have a bit of bite (albeit not as much as the T10, probably) despite its likely lack of turning capability.Just very roughly, putting in Flight Assists in the small slots, Fuel Scoop and FSD Booster in the 5s, and a Shield, gets you 1024-1088 tonnes in a 'cosy' build.

Indeed. I was just giving a quick indicative.Being honest, I don't think it should ever need a fuel scoop unless you're covering distances greater than 200+ ly. Speed is another factor I might be looking at. No offense to T9 but if the mail slot is on the other side of your arrival point at a colonization starport (because they orbit so closely that it is less easy to run through the in-supercruise lineup) it can take two minutes just to get it landed.
