New ship: Panther Clipper

Granted it is Zorgon P, so may be a bit nippy - but...

If it is slothful, and it may be, doesn't have a decent jump compared to a fully laden Cutter, despite hauling 50% more, anything that takes 2 jumps in the cutter would likely take 3 in the PC, taking longer by 50%, possibly, than the Cutter - hauling advantage lost immediately.

As one of the Chris' said "If you want to haul 1000", you can... but with all of the modern luxuries, like shields, HRP / MRP fitted, 1000 may be just barely.

We'll find out in 4 weeks , but everything about the ships modules seem a little too conservative to live up to the legacy of its earlier game namesake. (I only know about it from the forum, never played the 2 middle games due to having to work)

Yes, but they mentioned about two (additonal) optionalls locked for specialized cargo or fuel tanks, so...

You missed my point.

"two size 7 and two size 8s, something special about those ones..."

So the clear implication is the "special slots" are already included in the already listed size 7 and 8 slots.

Just very roughly, putting in Flight Assists in the small slots, Fuel Scoop and FSD Booster in the 5s, and a Shield, gets you 1024-1088 tonnes in a 'cosy' build.

The variance of course being whether it can even fit a Size 6 Shield, or need to lose a Size 7 slot for it.

Without the hull mass we can't be sure, but even a C6 Prismatic (ala cutter) may not give much protection, relatively speaking.

So the T8 is the best outpost hauler at around 400. The iCutter is the best of the old guard at around 800. And now the new kid on the block sports around 1200. Makes sense. Now I'll wait for the first reports on velocity and handling. If it is slow like the T9, I don't see a big advantage for my play style. I probably get twice the runs out of the iCutter than from a T9, simply because of the raw speed advantage going in and out of the station, especially with FC support short range hauling.
But if it ever becomes available by credits, I'll sure as hell get one. Now what was the FC ship yard limit again?

We'll find out in a month. Size 6 shields can cover up to 1,350 ton hull size.

So TWO kind of modules - because size 7 and size 8
But they mentioned about TWO special slots for cargo as well.

Being honest, I don't think it should ever need a fuel scoop unless you're covering distances greater than 200+ ly. I'd use the C4 slot for an FSD booster or hull/module reinforcement and maybe stick one of the latter into a C5 slot as well - unless a C6 shield (if it can hold one that size) and engineered HD armor on it is sufficient for any NPC encounter - because I occasionally like to shoot back at those annoying pirates. I don't bother with the T9 because it's a hog and only has medium hardpoints, this one might have a bit of bite (albeit not as much as the T10, probably) despite its likely lack of turning capability.

Speed is another factor I might be looking at. No offense to T9 but if the mail slot is on the other side of your arrival point at a colonization starport (because they orbit so closely that it is less easy to run through the in-supercruise lineup) it can take two minutes just to get it landed.

Indeed. I was just giving a quick indicative.

Lots of stuff not being talked about here with the focus on the raw tonnage, but that Size 7 Fuel Tank would take forever to fill up with a small Fuel Scoop anyway, so it's likely to be the first thing I'd drop when actually coming up with a build.
