DLC20 Discussion (maybe, but why not?)

*From Asia.

Still bitter about the coati.

And sea otter would've been peak.
Yes..The absence of the coati is one of the few missing mammals that I’m genuinely disappointed didn’t make it in the game. Even knowing they have to end it somewhere, if this is the end as I suspect it is, they should have made it in and the fact they didn’t increases my bitterness about the coyote.

They showed that this format can work, because Barnyard had some great scenery (and it was all very fitting for its theme)
Yep. I can remember years back and this pack concept was going around the Forums, and most everyone liked the idea. So it's not the style of pack that is an issue, but the scenery in that pack. This whole festival theme with tiny decor pieces do nothing for me, as I'm not much of a decorator. Give me some wooden or mesh pieces(or my favorite, a log cabin build theme) and I will love it.

I cant really share the negative opinion of the scenery to be honest. Yeah most of it is very out there and seems like it should be in planet coaster.
But to me who likes to build highly detailed with alot of custom stuff, the led set is probably the best and most versatile set of pieces we got in years, arguably ever. Might be a hot take but that set is easily the highlight of the pack.

I've also seen plenty of the more "builder" type of player say the same about the led's as well as a few other pieces recently. I'm not saying they are generally useless...just that I don't have any use for them.
I can remember years ago when y'all were basically pleading for Frontier to provide ANY type of backstage/prop type pieces for your intricate builds, so I get it. We all approach the game differently.

But i have to say of we get more pack i hope they do something different. The festival theme is getting kinda stale after 3 packs

If there ends up being another pack, the only scenery stuff I want at this point is either urban/city or education/museum (like skeletons of some of the more iconic animals)
Oh yeah totally. Id love just a whole bunch of generic zoo stuff. More variations of the mulch and gravel pieces for like sand and earth would be amazing. Personally i really want a couple car probs so you can fill a parkinglot without using like a couple hundred pieces per car. Also just more natural materials, we got so many wooden beam/pole sets over the years but why not new branches and logs (climbable ones!) After like 5 years climbing frames, especially for the smaller primates are starting to feel very repetative because you really only have a handfull of pieces to work with.
Speaking of natural material: Rocks, why do we have so little of them? Remember how great it was when twilight came around and we get the stalagmite pieces to play around with? How great would it be if they added like another rock set or two over the years. There is so much variation in faux rockwork in zoos that it we could really use a couple more

Yea I am really bummed out about it, biggest mammal omission in my opinion.

Imma be super honest: the more I think about it, the more that this CAN'T be the last pack.

Look, Frontier has, over the years, proven time and time again that they're aware of what the players want. Omitting aviaries and aquariums, they've gotten almost all of our requests, such as more monkeys, the top canids (apart from the Canis group and dholes), bringing up several underrepresented continents, and even several requested animals thay we thought were lost but ended up being squeezed somewhere else.

Now, why is it that we've had 2 packs where there were super key animals thay would've been very easy to implement yet they weren't added? There's no way Frontier doesn't know we haven't asked for the American black bear or coati and there's no way they don't know we don't want more fowl.
I bet that they still have some things in store for us, I truly think they do. I dunno how much further the devs will go, but at most I still see 2 more DLCs to be released and another anniversary. I feel like we aren't done yet

Animals, yes, even despite the elephant it was a great pack. But the scenery is deeply underwhelming for me and underlines my main critique of the game: too much theme park and not enough zoo.
I'd argue it is not even good theme park theming. Even in Coaster some of it would look cheap.

I am all for theming in a zoo game, as theming IS the future of zoos. However, the pieces need to be good and they are not in the Americas Pack and this, though much better in this.

To be fair, with some of the LED pieces you have to think very out of the box (like @Iben did), but I can see why they are useful. I had some other hardcolre builder friends also gishing over them yesterday. So this time it really is just the plastic flowers that are extreme.

It is the goat / sheep for me. Or the general fact that South America had to share the pack with North America, when North America already got a whole animal pack and a half (Twilight).

The Americas Pack just stings on several levels and does not age well in my opinion.

You know what would be epic, and probably easy to do?
A whole set of the "regular" rocks, but instead of being a set colour/biome they're flexicolour.
The flexicolour rocks we have are too smooth to really work with the real rocks
