What's the New Feature in Winter 2025?

I would love if they made thick-atmosphered HMC worlds and those ice worlds that are currently non-landable landable. And that one pre-trailblazers CG kind of hinted a bit towards that direction.

However, whether that CG was an omen or just completely random and unrelated to future plans, we'll see. However, I must admit I'm not very hopeful it will actually happen.

The new feature will probably be related to some other form of gameplay. If I had to guess: It will enhance the current BGS to make it much more explicit, graphical and with more interaction (particularly for squadrons).

Another possibility is that it's somehow Thargoid-related.

Seriously: Why do you do this? Frontier haven't said a single word about the new feature, and until they do, all you do is build up false expectations. It's like... we've never EVER done this before.

Yeah, there are boring staples like landable ELW-s, ship interiors and, ahem, Open-Only™. But sometimes theres some interesting new ones, too, like continuation of the Salvation arc or on-foot thargs. Or my own EVA thing that I didn't write down into my own dreams.txt until someone on Youtube (I think maybe DTEA? Or Ghost Giraffe?) stepped on a geyser, ended up in space without a ship and discovered that they can actually move around and even met up with a friend in ship🙃

I was just going to post that EVA might be a real possibility. Anyone who has glitched out of a carrier or been catapulted into space by a geyser has seen that it's at least partially working so most likely has received developer time.

But I agree these speculation threads (that some seem to like to create) are mostly a waste of my time, even though the mental acrobatics that some go through can be amusing.

I would love to be wrong but i fear some are setting themselves up for big dissapointment.

personally i think i am being over optimistic with my wishes even tho in reality all that would entail would be some new "baddie" models and a few new combat locations combined with what we already have.
