Panther Clipper Mk II Update | Available Now

So he can buy the standard version and buy the MK II Cargo Racks without having to shell out 20 bucks for the stellar version. I'm actually wonder the same thing.
The Stellar adds a paint job and body kit which (bought individually) cost more than the Stellar (pun intended) price.
If you lurve the paint job & body kit & can spare the ARX, buy the Stellar.

This is correct, They will be available to purchase. I'll update the notes to reflect this.
Thank god, I was worried for a sec.

Small suggestion for the future, any ARX ships you plan to have a unique module like this, just make sure you note in the patch notes that "Yes, the module will be purchasable in stations", even bold it and underline if necessary.

I was honestly worried that I would be stuck getting the stellar version just to get the full benefit out of the ship.

I just got to the page that has Phil's note where he'll clarify that the MK II Cargo racks ARE purchasable in stations. That's what I wanted to know and that is a relief.

Please kill these two stupid, unnecessary bright lights on the left panel. Can't see the distance numbers. We kinda need distance numbers in Elite.
In fact kill EVERY bright light, on every HUD panel, on EVERY ship. They are very distracting in the blackness of space (Krait MKII). Especially in VR!

I've heard rumblings others are getting the same message with their AV software.

Defender has no issues.
It has happened fairly regularly with Elite for a few years now, and also on a few other games I play. It's when a patch is dropped and the binary files have drastically changed. If they're not signed, or certificated in certain ways then they get flagged by some AV software, depending on how they function too. There's many variables to it, but they generally get ironed out within a few days of release.

Elite Dangerous Hud Manager. You can change the cockpit lights in both color and intensity.

Anyone figured out what the sweet spot is in terms of engines & powertrain & minimum shields for a hauler?

From my experiments (no engineering so far):
8D Thrusters are fine. Boosts up to 261 with 7D distributor, 245 fully laden.
6D Shield won't even protect against the most modest of bumps, but maybe better thrusters would have prevented me faceplanting on my carrier.

These two white lights are annoying:

100% Agree on the lights

I already have the modules lined up at Jameson Station for the vessel. Going to buy the Standard Mark II and engineer it as I want it. Stellar looks good and offers a good load-out, but you can do much better with engineers and FSD SCO V2 modules.

FSD SCO v2? There's two versions of SCO? I must have blinked and missed something.

Just a few thoughts on the PC for those interested...

I picked up the standard version and can confirm all the cargo racks unique to the Stella version can be bought for credits. With a 6A shield fitted, I can haul 1104 which is exactly 400 more than my shielded Cutter - 10 runs on this basis is 4000 extra units, so not at all shabby. The PC using a SCO drive is a big improvement over the Cutter being a very smooth experience. I'm not sure if this is a thing or not, but unlike the Cutter, when the PC lands on stations or planets, no damage to the shields take place. I have moderately used engineers to boost the jump range which gets 30LYs+ so more than enough and have no power issues.

On a personal note my PC has a midnight black paint job. It is a panther after all.

Overall the PC is a pleasure to use thus far so well done FD. Incidentally you can walk right up to the ships access door which kind of screams ships interiors! Also, a single commander on the bridge of this ship really cuts a lonely figure.

Yes, if you buy the standard version you can get the PC Owner's Club Decal and MKII cargo racks! :) Also note that paint and ship kit is 16800. Cheaper than buying the stellar! ;)

yeah finally found the note from Phil clarifying that important point, that the racks ARE purchaseable via stations in game.

First test: for hauling, this is it. Good bye Cutter & T-9 and thank you for the fish.
hmm....
PC2 looks better than T9, flies better than T9, carries more than T9, jumps further than T9, is better armed than T9, has better shields than T9.... It's just BETTER

Cutter is still faster and looks even better, has better armour and shields, but that capacity is the selling point. There's just no argument.
... ok but now i'm sorta confused because i thought everyone ( "everyone" aka vocal-minority? ) was indeed arguing for weeks over here in the other thread about how the CARGO capacity was "SUCH a disappointment" and "typical FDEV" , etc. . Are u guys now saying, on patch/pay day, all of that prior bloviating meant nothing?

Either way, despite the fact that i love both my T9 and grinded Imp Cutter, i'm def. gonna ARX this new Clipper just to fully $upport Elite Dangerous, a dying beautiful breed of sacred sandbox gaming, but still i'm lowkey curious as to why it seems maybe this time all the hate was just magically dropped on day 1 ?

I honestly never considered that they wouldn't be...

I guess my faith in FDev is better than I thought.
Given I have dealt with scuzzy American publishers, I absolutely thought that's what they were going to try to pull. I'm glad I was wrong. But it shows you the sorry state of the gaming industry as a whole when the knee jerk expectation is, "How is company X going to put the screws to me."

Anyway, glad Phil clarified that. I'm waiting for him to actually put it on the patch notes.
