That`s why i underlined the word "possible".

A pirate would ask for the cargo.
A pirate would disable the engines as an "argument" to avoid a bounty for murder (cost money).
A possible griefer would have a 6000cr+ bounty on his head for murder.
Any idiot can pirate/bounty hunt NPCs. Where's the fun in that? Some people actually like a challenge.Someone who claims to be a pirate but only attacks PC ships
I'd like to mention that those who submitted their cargo got to keep half of it, simply because my cobra has only 20 cargo.
Those who tried to run...
Well try to overrun a cobra with A class thrusters. If I let everyone go then noone would give me their cargo would they?
Not everyone who kills are greifers.
If a target runs away, then the pirate will open fire and potentially kill the target, hence the bounty gain.
It's possible, but there are a LOT of complaints here on the forum about so-called "greifers" and I'm saying that I have not come across one. And most of these claims of greifing are just pirates.
you only can find stories about them in this forum, they arent in the game actually.
There is a post in the Groups section that would tend to contradict you. A player from the hated griefers of Eve online is attempting to start a group aimed at doing exactly that. I would be interested in knowing how that sits with the rules governing player behavior.
I have an urge to kill griefers praying on poor noob sideys for sport. Any way to spot these losers?

Look for big ships interdicting sidewinders near the home sectors. You can see them zoom about the system quite often.

Contrary to the forums, there are hardly any greifers.
People are confusing pirates with greifers because they don't like getting attacked when carrying cargo.
Just saying..
You know why are we griefers? Because hurr durr he shot me.
I warned one of my prey 3 times that I wont kill him if he hands over his cargo but still goes for the FSD.
Why should I let him go? I even had a friendly barter with one of them willing to give up 15 brandy before he left.
