Not TOTALY broke, but seems to have some bugs still . Still seeing demand of 0 . on some items in stations. Demand amount don't seem to drop as quick as the price does. Supply similar, price seems stable but amount drops on raw mats. (al. cobolt ect.)
Clearly nobody commenting on this thread has read my post on the "bugs" thread that I linked to.
I've listed commodities, systems and even pointed out that *nobody* is visiting these systems other than me, yet still MILLIONS of demand turns into MILLIONS of supply at the same station within an hour........and vice versa......A station that had MILLIONS of fruit-and-veg 15 minutes ago now has NONE......
I'm 100% sure that trading is completely and utterly broken.
You have no way of knowing that nobody else visits a particular system as solo/group /open all effect the in game universe.
There could be 1000 people in solo constantly running your trade route and you wouldn't know.
You can tell how many other players have visited a system from the Traffic Report on the news feed. It doesn't matter whether you play solo, group or open, all player visits are recorded. And if you visit multiple times that also shows up. I spent some time in a couple of systems where I was the only player in the last 24 hours and I could see the ship count increase each time I visited.
Morning everyone,
So, me and the band of miscreants have been testing the trading market since they applied the server side fix before Christmas and can say that trading appears to still be broken...
Alot of my friends like to trade and do nothing else and sometimes play solo and not in the group - however it just seems to be difficult to make any real money from doing the thing they love to do.
The supply and demand price changes appear to be broken... it would take 2 runs of Gold, as an example to start to make a loss on the trade route.
Has anyone else seen this?
Im not talking about rares here, they are not on the table - Im talking about full bread and butter trading...
OK.....Another example.
I get the "Go and fetch us 2 combat stabilisers" mission to progress in the Federation (same mission for Imperial too, apparently). You only get 90 minutes for this, remember.
They aren't available near me so I use the galaxy map to find all the "close" high-tech worlds. There are 4 within 100ly and 2 of them list combat stabilisers as exports.
I travel 38ly to the first exporting system.......They have none. In fact they aren't even listed on the commodities market.....On ANY station that has a market in that system.
I travel 79ly to the other exporting system.....They have none.....Exactly the same situation again - not even listed on the market. They aren't illegal, they are just missing.
Just on the off chance I visit the other two as well........Nada....but then what was I expecting.
I have no problem with the game being sparse with information / hand-holding, but when the only way of completing missions is to use the in-game info (If you're in deep space, Good luck googling someone else who has your problem!) it SUCKS when that info is just plain wrong. TBH I refuse to believe that this is "as designed". There has to be bugs here. Everything I'm experiencing is just frustrating as hell and is so close to game-breaking that it makes me want to restart on a different path altogether, especially when there doesn't seem to be any acknowledgement that there is even a problem in this area.

Not having any issues trading or with prices, supply or demand.
Sounds like you are trading in overused systems. Also gold is often not biggest profit earner or most reliable commodity to supply (because so many traders go for it).
Currently making 200k to 250k + taking rep missions per round trip in an L6
Exactly this ^^^Personally I have noticed trading being pretty stable besides the fact that you can not trust system view import/export items or trade route displays on galaxy map.

The reason the profits are bad is because you have milked that trade run. Try going to systems where players don't go. I see high demands and high supplies in out the way systems or where the station is a long distance from star.
Once you have made 100 billion then what? Enjoy your game now.
