Updated OP with latest records!
An early version of The Galactic Book of Records is about to be released watch this space!!:D:D

Hip 63835 also has a Yellow star withban insane rotational rate, can't get in game to check which right now. Is siderial rate measured in game? And if so can fastest/slowest SR or longest/shortest day be categories for the different bodies?

With explorers spreading further and wider maybe some new catergoreis can be added?

If so I nominate this as the closest Water world to the galactic center (Sagittarius A*), and also the most distant Water world from Sol so far discovered.

Distance from Sagittarius A* : 2.54 Light Years
Distance from Sol : 25,899 Light Years

It'll be interesting to find out where the most distant Earth like world is from Sol, although I think it'll be some time before its found (if ever) :)

Go for it! I love the competition :D

Erm, I'd guess 4?
I would expect only binary pairs of stars count. Please correct me if I am wrong.

due to a real life situation I wont be exploring alot the coming weeks, but I have an ambitious plan after that, back to trading it is.

cant find the gas giant but it is somewhere eithin 300 ly of sol 77.925 km.

An early release of Universal Cartographics The Galatic Record Book is now available for your viewing pleasure, click on pic below Enjoy:D:

As you can see there now many records. This is work in progress I am hoping to add a lot more content as it currently only really has records, so if anyone has anything they want to propose to add to the book please post.
I'm hoping to add pics and descriptions of each type of body, stuff like that!
Please also post if I've missed any records from the firstpost, also many peoples records may now be eligible for some of the other records so check and post. Oh and check book for rules especially rule 4:)!
I also need a list of different atmosphere types so I can add them!:D
Also at some point I will be starting a regular photo competition to feature on cover and in pages of the book but more on that later
For now enjoy and post some records!!!!:D
Special thanks to rukmerot for his help

Looks like you need a Google account to view it,
I haven't used google docs for a long time so I didn't think about this:eek:
edit: no you don't, should be unlocked now!:D

Indeed it works now and it looks like I'll have a long day of looking through old exploration data to fill in ~50 of those new records ;)

The contents page looks empty for me .. is that currently just a placeholder? (I think just a link to each major category (stellar, planetary etc.) would be good enough to go there for now)

btw Patau for any cover competition look for pictures of the NGC8722 or S171 star cluster ... it is a true explorer's siren call!

It was just a placeholder mainly been working on the records and the rest, I'm hoping to have an index at the end to make it easier to find stuff but it could be hard to do if categories change and get moved

In the list, are you classifying carbon-ammonia life as ammonia-life or would that be a separate category? Same with carbon-water-based life?

This fit any category?

+rep from me! this is great!

Also: What about getting a picture from the commanders that discovered that particular record holding phenomenon. An image of their ship or something. I guess they might all look similar. Just a thought.
