I went searching for what is suppose to be the largest known exoplanet.

http://www.space.com/4151-largest-exoplanet-discovered.html

Space.com describes the planet as "1.7 times the size of Jupiter and belongs to a small subclass of so-called puffy planets that have extremely low densities. The planet is located about 1,400 light years away from Earth and zips around its parent star in only three and a half days." The planet is named TrES 4.

I FOUND IT! ED has the star system itself named TRES-4. Correctly it is 1399.9 LY away from SOL, has an orbit period of 3.6 days and is about 22Ls from it's star. The coolest thing I found is that the screenshot I took in game is similar to the artist rendition of the planet at space.com. ED has the radius at 70,518KM so it isn't the largest in game but it is very close but for being a gas giant it is very close to it's star. So I would propose a new category of Closest Gas Giant to Star.

I was debating starting to fill in a lot of the giant empty categories just to get things started but I'm getting the feeling that all the categories almost start making this feel like a "Guinness book world record" as in there's simply too many categories some of which don't make sense to me either.
Did a quick count and it's now up to ~485 categories and records that will need updating. Somehow previously it felt better when the list was 1 forum page.

A possible way to fix this is to have tiered records with examples like: most earthlike planets in a system as a "gold level" record while coldest A class star could be a "silver level" record ..
What determines whether a record is gold/silver/bronze could be voted on by the community that has contributed to this page.

Anyway to end this on a positive note the design does look awesome and fits in with the feel of ED and hopefully Fdev get around to including/linking to it in the phone App they say will come out for Android also (not an iPhone user so can't test it yet)

Hello Commanders,

I recently took it upon myself to visit some of these systems, and was unable to locate the following:

wredguia MI-K D8-21
Wredguia XJ-I d9-40
Praea Euq TT-A d31

I type these into the galaxy map and it shows me completely different systems, which when visited did not match the records associated with these systems. Just thought I would bring this to your attention. In addition, please find below my submission for smallest water giant:

HIP 85236 - Smallest Water Giant.png

HIP 85236 6 - with a radius of 21,306 KM.

the systems and the screenshots are real, the galaxy map though is wrong and sometimes a bit buggy, but just to be clear
all my claims are provided with screenshots of me being their in person, when i had to find wredguia MI-K D8-21 it took me about 30 min manually from the hd or hr system you get send to when you type the name

8xr1mp.jpg

maybe this will help you find it.
your record is added to the books

ADDED THE WATER GIANT WITH MOST MOONS CATAGORY TO YOUR CLAIM WITH 3 MOONS

Forgive me if it seemed I was insinuating these claims were false, my intention was to ensure the system names had been entered into the records correctly; perhaps I should have stated as much in my post.

Rather bizarrely, I am able to locate the system on the galaxy map only when searching for one of the systems nearby. It still does not show up when I search for that system name directly. I don't suppose you know if this has been raised as a support ticket?

btw Patau for any cover competition look for pictures of the NGC8722 or S171 star cluster ... it is a true explorer's siren call!

I was not under the impression these where false insinuations, but these particular matters have not been ticketed , I ticketed several other isseus though, you are welcome to ticket these

I claim

lightest, heaviest, smallest and biggest metal rich planet and colass 3 gas giant with kepler 10 2

And 3

I could type em out here but that would be double work pictures are here (when i break records I will not put them in myself , unset records though I will provide with evidence and add to fill all of the 485 catogory's )

2 records a day keeps the thargoids away

S171 37 8

Hello, I would like to claim:

S171 37 8 as:

  • Body with highest surface temperature: 33,501K
  • Body with highest surface pressure: 38,894,530,560,00
  • Heaviest body (non gas giant): 1,397.9980

aswell as
largest, heaviest, hottest and highest surface pressure for a metal rich planet

since I just started this account to post here I'm not allowed to post pics/links:

imgur . com/oH7GPnX (remove spaces)

Anyone in the Sol system want to check the data on Mars and get your name in the record books? :)

Smallest terraformed body - KOI 442 3 with a radius of 8,282km - Nutter
Lightest terraformed body - KOI 442 3 with 1.3000 Earth masses - Nutter

their are smaller ones around you can find em prescanned on the map in another capital

Updated book with latest records!

This fit any category?

Screenshot_0302.png
Screenshot_0303.png

Benoit and Zeta Doradus are 2,720,000 light seconds apart or a mere 0.086 ligth years
already got it!:)
In the list, are you classifying carbon-ammonia life as ammonia-life or would that be a separate category? Same with carbon-water-based life?
No longer in record book, but record for each planet type they are found on instead
So I would propose a new category of Closest Gas Giant to Star.
already got that category the current record is 2ls!

Yeah I know there is a lot, will have to go through and see what to get rid there are defiantly a few stupid ones out there, I like your idea of ranking records some are clearly more prestigious then others! probably won't do any work on the book for a few days, apart from record keeping of course!

Tommorow, I will start to fill in the gaps with placeholders i can find in the vicinity of sol, these will be put in under the name archives

+rep from me! this is great!

Also: What about getting a picture from the commanders that discovered that particular record holding phenomenon. An image of their ship or something. I guess they might all look similar. Just a thought.

I could add a hyper link to each record if people create their own thread's with pics, story, etc of their find

nice find CMDR Suizida! ... Here's the image posted for you ... that sure beats the previous records I set also in S171 .... just wish those damn systems weren't so buggy (more than half the data in S171 now shows up only partially for me)
