this might sound like a dumb question at this late stage ...
but, 'why' do we need to move people out of 'solo/group' and into 'open' ?
seriously, why ? the solo/group people seem entirely happy where they are ..
It's to keep the PvP crowd sated on their glorious pew-pew. If you play in a Group or in Solo - you are
depriving them of their almighty-given right to blow you up for absolutely no reason whatsoever. Needless to say - that is against their rules.
What they can't seem to get their head around, is that nearly 3000 people are in one online group that has decided that shooting each other is against
their rules, but their members are free to switch between that group, and completely open play, at any given time according to their wishes. I have no idea how many are in other similar groups, but I don't think it's an inconsequential number.
Of course - the polar opposite can happen, there are groups set up with players who
only want to fight. The problem seems to be that these groups only want to fight other groups, and in order for that to happen - their members have to meet in Open play. Due to the way instancing works, it doesn't appear to be able to match them up reliably - so they get bored and resort to seal-clubbing new players.
They mostly don't seem willing to all become friends and make a mega-group for themselves so that they can meet up more easily and blow each other up. This seems to be because they have no way of displaying their superiority in that group, or they refuse to group with "enemies", or it's because they can't recognize (or remember) who is on which side without a clan-tag. Some of these people only remember their names because some raid-leader shouts it at them all day.
The PvP pew-pew-crew are anti-choice in this regard. That is a very sad state of affairs.
