Nice, more updates that don't matter and no fixes for the stuff that matters to the community. Thanks anyways. Was expected.

My proposal for you, me and everyone who thinks that "stuff that matters for the community" will be fixed, is...STOP HALLUCINATING. The list of things that have to be either reviewed or altered has become so long that it might be more time and money-consuming than creating a brand new game. So, just stop dreaming of significant updates except of wings and of course paid features. This is Elite Dangerous whether we like it or not, sadly.

Please speak for yourself but not for me. I am also part of the Community and I do not know, as much as yourself about what the Community would expect in case of bugfixing.
... Thx.

Sorry but I am fat up with these negative, reasonless postings

The background simulator does not work. Do you understand what that means for a simulator game?

Server Updates:

- Fixed some issues that stopped some Commanders logging into the Companion App
- Stopped wars and civil wars in star systems with only 1 minor faction in that state
- Added ship discount to Founders World
- Various reliability and performance improvements

Yes... finally I can log in to the iPhone app. Thanks!

If a game system cheats you out of credits what would you call it. Then when you are informed that there are no plans to refund those credits, to me that is a clear comment that the person concerned is showing disrespect to players when other bugs that have caused loss have been refunded.

Hi Commander.

I have other games that were bugged beyond belief when shipped, some by large publishers, and got no refund. When I play some game and get kicked out of a session for no reason and lose all progress I don't go complain to the developer to give me credit for kills or weapons I lost. FD time is better spent on fixing the bug and further development than in offering to refund every player ever inconvenienced by a bug. And seriously, it is a game and to be this invested in a game to through around the sentiments you are does seem a bit much/immature.

Microsoft doesn't give me money when Windows or Excel crashes. They don't help me recover my lost work or rub my sore ego, and that happens when I am working for real money in the real world.

I feel sorry for the time you lost and you must obviously care about the game to keep posting like this. I have never gotten close to 50 million credits, so I can understand the frustration I would feel if a bug cost me over a million. But I would not think at this point the Devs should be refunding in-game credits for anything other than a massive bug that affected majority of players in a major way. The big win is the bug gets fixed because fixes and tweaks are on-going and this isn't a boxed game where an update may never come. That's my take on it anyway.

My proposal for you is to not wind yourself up so much. ;)

This is the beginning of the game and there WILL be many major updates going forward as the game evolves. This is by no means "it".

Wings is just the first post-release update. There will be many more free ones released over the coming year with major features and content added to the game. This while FD at the same time will work on the expansions in parallel. This is why they have expanded their development team after all.

.........SNIP

This is a very good point which puts game bugs into perspective. I wouldn't like to add up the real cost of MS bugs to my productivity over the years.

every big softare company does not only have a releasenote/fixed section but also a !!!KNOWN ISSUES!!! section in every release/Patch/fix

would be great to see something like this, so we would see on what they are working further and for what we still have to open tickets

You mean what Nvidia put in their Release Notes after launching a new driver? Fixed Issues, Known Issues, Issues not related to Nvidia? Yeah, second that!

Apparently you are an optimist and that is a nice characteristic. Still, i was expecting a "living, breathing galaxy" and what i experience is a "vast asphyxiating galaxy". The things they have to change to transform "asphyxiation" to "breath" will make Frontier non-viable as a company. Hopefully, i am wrong and you are right...but i doubt it.

Hi everyone,

update 1.05 is incoming. The servers will be closed at 11am GMT to apply the update and will be down for up to 30 minutes. Here is the change log for this update:

- Memory use improvements and fixes on server

Thanks!

Michael

Hi Michael, this line is not in the server changelog part, is it related to the client or the server?

I wish FD would communicate what bugs they're working on so we know we're being heard. It's the silence that kills...

At least one of their devs was kind enough to say she was working on the issue with accidentally shooting the cops. Very much appreciate that.

What about all the other bugs that have been open for many weeks? Can we have a status page about

- known issues
- issues under investigation
- issues needing telemetry or input
- issues being fixed right now (fix expected to be released next patch)
- etc

I made a very similar suggestion last week,
I appreciate FD are hard at work but a running list of known issues and whether they are being investigated, fixed, fixed awaiting another update etc would be nice, similar at least to the known bugs page during beta when going to report a bug..

Not least because if we know it's a known bug we know not to bother wasting supports time by filing yet another ticket.

FINALLY I can get onto the companion app!

aaaaand the first thing I spot is a typo... (Federal Dropship is apparently a "Heavy Assualt Ship")

edit: also several ships missing from catalogue (adder, python, t7)

What makes you think that they are not working on them? Sure we all would like to see major upgrades and fixes for old bugs. But since they are not released yet, I assume they are not ready.
Nothing to do with your post, just wanted to say how much I appreciate your avatar photo of Talby! I so wanted to be CMDR Pinback but someone (of course) already took it.

I would think the commander you are replying to may know a thing or two about how the developers react to the needs of the game and community. If it wasn't for some u turns by the development team based on ideas from the community pushed and concentrated by this commander to bring in super cruise we would still be asphyxiating in rooms in space. Experience of the dev team has given plenty of reason for this commander to be an optimist.
