Rare respawns

Seems to me like rares are working exactly as intended.

Rare goods force a commander to travel. They spawn in low quantities and make a fair amount of profit per ton if the commander travels.
They are the perfect way for new commander to get a nice credits injection to start them on their way. They also encourage the new commanders to explore a bit, and do other things on their rares run.
I found the running of rares in my Adder as superb way to get to know the game. I still do the occasional rares run now, although I may do it some more once I have a decent loop to run around as I think that could easily negate the problems of waiting for stock.

But if all you do is grind rares, and you are not happy with how that works, maybe this is not the game for you?

500k an hour, 2 hours a day, 3 days a week = 3 million a week. That's 26 days everyday(or just over 2 months at 3 days a week)of doing the same thing over and over and over again for me to get your 80 mill.

Sorry dude, but I need quicker rewards than doing the same thing every time i play for 2 months just to get the 80 mill you have.

@Tar stone: Try not to be selfish, some of us can't play for 8 hours a day grinding the same trade route of normal goods.

Just thought I'd quote these two. You are telling everyone running rares should be more profitable because you don't have enough time to play the game, and then telling other people not to be selfish.

Oh dear...

Rikk out.

why do so many of you want to tell everyone else how to play their game? Its an open world sandbox. If someone wants to sit at a station for half an hour waiting for something what skin off your ass is it? I recall back in EQ days it was nothing to sit and camp the commander for his silver shield or some such. There would even be a queue of people waiting their turn. So pleas play your game and leave me to play mine. If you do not care for the way i play then ignore it or whatever. No one made you Elite Sheriff.

Waaaa! Waaaa! Waaaa! I can't make money fast enough! Stop complaining! Trading already makes every other way to make money pointless and now you want it easier? Whats next an auto pilot? Oh wait that too has already been suggested as well.

And combined with this is he is only making 500k an hour and blaming the game. Well my basic rare run makes me roughly 750k in 30-40 mins, and Im not a trader player. Im a bounty hunter mainly.

So, he cant make money, blames the game, says its the spawn rate, but fails to create real profit on his trips. And thats with the most profitable, easiest, lowest risk "profession" in the game. Um I going to with an interface issues between the keyboard and his seat.

Get rid of the respawn timers on rares please. Isn't it enough you reduced the amount we can have of any one rare. Do we honestly need to sit in a station for half an hour waiting for 8 of them to spawn?

Please review this respawn timer on rares.

Put the kettle on and go exploring or do something else. Lost of options, you dont need to sit and wait. Its a big Galaxy out there. Have some fun.

I get that you want a full cargo hold before you go 160+LY, but maybe you need to adjust your rare route from something linear to something circular..

That way, if your at a station, (like a clock) 12, you can sell those commods to station 6.. and when your at station 3, you sell those to station 9.. ect ect.. that way you will constantly be selling rares at each station and buying before you leave for the next..

Then you wont need to fill your cargo, you will pretty much always have it almost full

This is sound. Have rep, sir.

Except for the annoying habit of stations only supplying 1T of rares for me of late on first docking...

My current route is reasonably profitable (about 600k/direction), though it usually take well over an hour, if not two, simply because I'll usually do a bit of bounty hunting and exploration on the side.

Having said that, personally, I'd prefer to see a further cut in availability, but having it all available at first docking.

ie - max allocation of 3-7 units, instead of the current where some items are as much as 20, but all of 3-7 can be bought from the get go. Would encourage more circular routes/exploring, rather than cluster to cluster, perhaps?
