Who is happy they didn't buy it?

Perhaps you should have not made trading your primary source of income. Everyone already knows by now that every other form of making credits besides trading (I still feel it is unbalanced)is in need of improvement. Improvement will come we just need to wait for a bit. Rome wasn't built in a month and neither will this game. Sure some features are missing, but the game is stable! Pretty damn optimized, and it runs without a hitch. I feel Frontier wanted a stable game at release and they have done a good job doing that. Now this year should be interesting to see whats in store for it.

I myself have only now just got into an ASP since I mine for my credits. So it is honestly pretty exciting every time I fill my cargo hold. New things to try. More upgrades for my ASP, and that one paint skin they offered? The blue and white? Dude it looked so awesome I had to get it!

Hey man, I agree with ya, and Trading wasn't my first source of income, I actually wanted to do it by Bounty Hunting, and killing Wanted targets, but it gets really frustrating after a while, you jump into a USS and scan down 3 targets only to see that the net bounty is equal too 1500CR.I could spend 5-10 minutes destroying all three (and hoping they don't jump away) or I can go sell a cargohold full of goods at a system nearby and make 150k in 10 mins. Im definitely hoping for improvement and I'll still be playing the game and travelling to new places. On my way now to the center of the Galaxy, going to see whats up over there. The game is very stable, runs perfectly, and I do agree Rome wasn't built in a day. I'm always looking at the Newcomers section of this forums, and people seem to be really into combat and "Blowin' Sh** up", but they get really frustrated that they lost 10000CR because an AI took the bounty or something. I think the Bounty system needs a bit of work. But the game is still fun, I always like flying around in a Type-9 just exploring with the D-Scanner. I may have been too quick to say its absolutely boring. It just feels a bit repetitive. "Go <here> kill <him/her> in <this> amount of time and I'll pay you <this> much money". I'm just looking forward to new content! Woohoo!

I'm hoping for some Anaconda skins. I'd like to see a Chrome Black, or Striped. That'd be pretty cool.

I'm actually the reverse. I waited until official release to buy ED, but I love this game so much (including its future potential) that I now regret not getting involved earlier and participating in the beta/gamma period. My loss...

I'm happy you didn't buy it.

That's the wonder of choice. Enjoy what suits you. Imagine if you'd have bought the game and ended up hating it? I would have been very sad for you. Here's to you and your choice. And for taking the time to share it with us.

Haha, well played. Ditto :p

You must have a very busy life OP. I can't imagine how time consuming it is to visit the forum for every game you have not purchased to post a wall of text explaining why. You know, there is just something fishy about that. Something just doesn't ring true. I wonder why?

I know! I've only just finished writing to the manufacturers of every toothpaste brand I don't use. I can't even imagine how long it will take me to write about every game I haven't played.

I can't remember ever feeling the need to walk into a car dealership and declare how happy I am, that I didn't buy their car.

Reminds me of a nice meta joke.

Jean-Paul Sartre sits down at a cafe in Paris and orders a coffee, with no cream. The waiter says, "yes, monsieur, no problem, we are out of cream anyway." Sartre replies, "then I'll have my coffee with no milk."

Seriously, though, I've played a f'ton of games in the last 30 years or so and never once gone out of my way to complain at all. Because, I have to figure if the publisher knows the game sucked, they obviously didn't care (and I am careful about reading reviews before I buy anything from that publisher again) or maybe the game just didn't work for me but it was fine for everyone else. So, no basis for complaint. I wish Shadow of Mordor had gone on for another couple weeks of game-play, I thought Dishonored would have been nice it if it had lasted for more than a few days, and I wish Metal Gear Solid 2 had never ended at all. But, again, I didn't bother going around complaining: I have other games that need playing and I'd rather game than complain.

There are some sad-sack gomers on the forums here who I think have apparently mistaken "hanging around the forums, whingeing and moaning" for being a hardcore gamer, or something. I wish I could give them all hugs and get them to go play something, somewhere, anywhere, else.

Anyhow I got better things to do than feed the militant trolls of this forum as I stated I am not interested in games that are ONLINE ONLY and as I also stated it is a major disappointment that Elite has taken to this.

Have a good day trolls!

(FYI internet in UK is hardly 24/7 it goes off at least several hours to 1-2 days a month imagine being in middle of something important in ED when that happens? oh yea! and thats the UK try living in Uganda where governemnt has to cut off the power every odd day....)

OK, enough reading, this one did it for me.. If this is true for you then you need to get a decent ISP or get BT to check your line.. In 5 years I only ever had one or two outages on my ADSLMax line from a small ISP. And both of those were down to BT and lasted less than 12 hours each. I've had FTTC 80/20 Fibre broadband for about 6 months and it hasn't even sneezed.. My original DSL was almost at the limit of ADSL distance and I only got 3.5-4MB so I wasn't exactly right next to the Exchange.. So you need to either pay a bit more with all those thousands or stop trolling..

Also, to your point on cars being crap, yeah, I'd totally ignore someone who said a car was crap and expected anyone to take him or her seriously if not only had they never driven it, but not sat in the passenger seat and actually drew that conclusion from some pictures they had seen on the internet.. Frankly I would ignore every word that came out of that person's general direction.. But this thread is hilarious so I guess I should thank you for that!

I for one am so happy I didn't fall for the scam and buy this game.

After the major issues recently with games royally screwing us over I vowed never to back/preorder ever again and instead wait for release and see what happens.

Behold no offline single player? That is to me the alpha-omega of if I should get a game. I do not play online games (unless it is a MP session with a friend or two) I expected and was told by the kickstarter that this game WOULD work offline single player. Yet I see people crying that is not so.

I am extremely disappointed with Frontier on this not only did they break promises but they flat out lied.

They would NOT have gotton 1.5 MILLION dollars if they had told people *Hey this game is going to be online only even for single player* do you think that kind of bull works now a days? After what happened the new SimCity etc? NOBODY wants that sort of bull.

It makes me sad reading all the comments from people who are trying their best to get a refund because they got lied to.

Frontier has become nothing but $$$ greed and did not deserve the money they got.

Of course Frontier can change things go back to what was promised and make everybody happy again including me.

This is the kind of bull I expect from EA... Not Frontier not a game we waited about 2 decades for... For shame Frontier for shame.

Dont you have internet ? Are you living in the middle ages?

Wait wait wait....
So the people of Uganda have magic computers that run on hopes and dreams instead of electricity.
Darn man, I want to move there, because where I live it doesn't matter if you have an internet connection if the power is out.
I feel as though there was an error in your logic trying to use this as a defense.

Well i'm glad you didn't buy it.. one less moron to deal with..

Ohh wait... We are dealing with him.

Heh, making this thread is a very roundabout way of pulling attention to one's wares. Marketing genius.

This reminds me of a great thread posted on my footy team's message board a few years ago. Some kid came onto the site pimping a website he'd made and then started posting homophobic abuse when he thought he was hacked by a forum member. I think there is a law or something that your address is in the public domain if you register it as a business so some forumites looked up his address through the website he was peddling and started photoshopping photos of him from his facebook page, sending pizzas, skips and worse to his house. It's utterly hilarious.......

Morale of the story = You are not as anonymous as you think you are so be careful about trolling and abuse on messageboards.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion I guess... I'm just curious why someone who didn't buy the game would come to that games forum and waste their time posting ? Surely if you didn't buy it, the game is of no consequence to you? Why bother even giving it a second thought?

I'm happy for you that you didn't fall for the "scam"... I did back in Janaury last year! Cost me £200!
Then I bought a DK1 and a HOTAS and a gaming laptop powerful enough to run it... That's another £2000 they robbed from me! Just recently I invested in a new £3000 gaming rig to power my DK2 and prepare myself for the forthcoming consumer VR experience... So in total im £5000 out of pocket thanks to Frontier! Crooks!

The really annoying part is that I don't even play computer games - Elite Dangerous is the only game I own!

Each to their own brother, but I don't regret spending any of it and have played incessantly for over a year now.
When you come to a games forum and rant in such a negative way, without having ever owned the game, maybe it's time to find another hobby? I'm sorry you don't like it, but words like greed, scam, etc. are completely unnecessary and inaccurate.

There are some on here who may even agree with you and did buy the game. I personally would be happy to organise a whip round so they could be duly compensated... If it meant that all the whining and negativity and often childish name calling would stop. I remember back in the alpha and early beta days when this was great place to hang... I am so tired of selfrighteous comments spouting garbage and toxifying this forum. Now this is the part where I get called a fanboy and the moaning continues....

I woke early this morning n couldn't sleep, I will check the forums I thought, I'm so glad I did !! Been laughing for the last half hour :)
I for one now just hoping n waiting for OP's online version of his Pengo game. UberPengo !! (Will not be available in Uganda of course)
''
How the heck am I gonna go back to sleep now ? Guess I'll have to count UberFoxes..
