Mercenaries of Mikunn - The Background Simulation and Colonization Test

For those that want to follow specific orders there is the ComWatch, which currently states that we are focusing on missions. For those that don't want to do missions across HR or are just starting out there are "general objectives" listed there as well.

So for those that don't know, the primary objective is missions, though no one here will complain if you start shooting up Dynamic commodities vessels.

We have a community event going now and thats a push on as many missions as anyone willing can do. This is our second event, the first being blockades in HR. The bounties listed in HR 7327 are a testament to our first community event.

Should update the ComWatch with the TeamSpeak server info.

For all of you Merchants of Mikunn, I'm going to try and update the system trade data around the sector we're in. This should hopefully allow us to set up optimal trade routes as we increase our influence in the area.

I'm adding the data to Thrudd's Trading Tool (http://www.elitetradingtool.co.uk/). If you'd like to help out, check the tool to see which systems are missing station data and then add it in. If you don't have a high enough access in the tool yet, just post here what system needs to be added and hopefully someone can add it in.

Good idea - I've been doing that for the most common systems we fly to and making sure data is at most 2-3 days old.

Are you set up to use OCR? Haven't bothered yet but that could improve data entry.

Nah, I'm not using OCR. Maybe I'll look into it later.

Once we get all of the local, populated systems within a 50 to 100 LY range, we can start figuring out optimal trade routes.

We didn't lose Influence today. Dynamic Commodities gained a little bit (0.1%) and Law Party lost 0.2%. I suspect the drop in traffic, since the story went off the Galnet explains the slow down on Dynamic Commodities and drop in Law Party. Without as many players going through to check things out (and probably being dissapointed at the lack of a blockade, we already ended), they were probably trading and increasing their Influence. Gabriel had less than 50 ships in the last 24 hours. Prior to today it was closer to 100.

The story ran from the 5th to the 8th, and that coincided with a marked bump in their Influence.

This weekend I ran lots of Courier missions out of Spaz to HR and betwixt the stations in HR and back to Spaz in Mikunn in the name of The Dukes.

If you're running courier missions INTO HR 7327, you should avoid having the recipients be Dynamic Commodities or Law Party. Otherwise, you can increase their Influence or positively impact their state. Best to run missions to the Dukes of Mikunn in HR 7327 or run missions OUT of HR 7327 for the Dukes of Mikunn.

Here's the latest Influence chart. I noted down certain events. We should expect a 1 day delay of when we start or stop things to see the changes. We can see the bump in Dynamics during the Galnet story. We can see when we were doing Missions at first we were getting in increase in Influence. When we started the blockade against Law Party, they started to drop in Influence. I'm guessing our opposition started doing their thing around the 22 or 23rd.

Yeah, but one guy versus all of is isn't going to make much of a dent. He says he has a bunch of people but unless they're hiding in solo mode that remains to be seen.

if you google exactly this :

elite dangerous "dark armada"

there's more than one of them.

I applaud everyone in their efforts but i am growing very frustrated with realising what a sandbox this game is.

It's conceptually broken.

I'm off to try and find a way i can enjoy the game.

He just said it's a long process to join the "Dark Armada." Doesn't mean there's more than just him. He also mentioned he pushed Dynamic Commodities back on top all by himself on this post. I figure he's pushing Dynamic Commodities while we're ignoring them, focusing on Law Party. That, and the increased commerce due to increased traffic is my guess on why DC has gotten ahead of us.

So are you withdrawing from the group? Lucifer is trying to get a head count. Also, I thought this game was suppose to be a sandbox.

I did the search and fail to see where you believe there is actually more than one.

If you want a game without opposition, then groups like this certainly are not for you. I take it that this is you asking to be removed and will do so.

Edit: And done

In case people didnt get it from the start:

This isn't going to be easy. We are testing the background simulator and there isn't really anyone before us to compare our results against. We are the first, there is no concerted effort like ours when it comes to expanding into another system. Not only are we the first, but we will have opposition at the same time while doing so. We will be lucky if that opposition chooses to record their actions and works with us in order to form a more accurate understanding of the back ground sim.

As we are the first ones here we are going to be hitting a lot of bugs and the devs will undoubtedly be tweaking certain aspects to make sure it isn't too easy (or too hard) for us. If you expect us to sally forth, and onwards to Sol, then you have the wrong idea.

That being said, each and everyone of you here has the opportunity to be among the first faction to make waves. We certainly have the potential to be the largest and most powerful - the problem is our largest challenges are right now. We have only one small station, our travel times are large due to the system the background generator chose for us, and we have bugs as well as opposition to deal with.

Once we get through this the rest will be easy. That being said, if the current endeavor is too much for you, that is ok, but PM me about it. Don't make posts of despair in the forum here please, as you are feeding the trolls.

Personally I welcome opposition, I really only find the bugs truly annoying. If our opponent finds a way to break the game and use one person to fend us all off, then thats exactly the type of thing we are here to discover.

That's exactly why i'm frustrated - "The Voyage of Bug Discovery", i can't immerse in it any longer but it's been fun and i wish you all well :)

Oh I know why people are frustrated. And I don't blame them for it, but I knew what this would be before jumping in.

Anyone know how to get a list of all populated systems within a 50 LY range of Mikunn? It would make gathering trade data a lot easier.

Ok i got a bit time today ...

here is the first preview:

http://www.elithor.com/index.php

So you Mercs, give me some input and suggestions. 1st day forum setup. Maybe someone could genereate some structure ... contact me via teamspeak or pm.

And to all those that don't feel really connected:

make use of our comms (teamspeak) ... its far better to coordinate stuff ... but if you are more of a lone wolf...

Just search on the Thudd trading tool for stations buying gold within 50ly.

That's sort of the problem, guys. Thrudd's tool only displays populated systems that have station commodity data. There are a number of systems in the tool that have no station commodity data (and thus won't be displayed when searching for buying or selling any products like gold or hydrogen). I'm trying to find which systems aren't listed so as to determine where we need to go and visit. We can do this by looking at the map, but it would be easier if there was a list out there somewhere.
