Glad to be amongst cool people

I certainly lament the lack of evolution of this genre. I think the last time I really enjoyed a game like was Privateer II: The Darkening. I bought X3:Gold on Steam the other day, and while it looks *gorgeous* I really don't get that buzz that Elite and Frontier gave me. Maybe I've changed.

Anyway - enjoy the blog. I've always posting daft/obscure stuff there, so as long as you like the writing style there's probably more reasons to visit than my occasional homage the David and Ian's masterpiece.

I am sure you haven't. While the X games certainly have a following and they do look nice, you need something else to scratch that "Elite" itch. No word from Frontier Developments as yet though

Personally I enjoyed X2 a lot, it was fun building up a trading empire and a massive fleet. I never managed to get into X3 though, I'm not sure what they did, but it just didn't feel right.

I have herd a lot of people say that Michael about preferring X2 to the later games. Still, Deepsilver/Egosoft have been busy with X Rebirth. Will this be an improvement over X3?
