HOW TO GRIND - Lugh system - Guide to Operation Dullahan

Your reputation with the Feds will not suffer, and as for smuggling, just fly about 9km away from the station, find the slot, go full speed (no need to boost) directly at the slot and remember your docking permission at 7.5km. Just get into the station and dock as usual without being scanned, then sell your loot on the black market under contacts. If you want added security, equip a heat sink and make sure to use it once you are at around 3km or less to the station.

thanks mate - will give it a go. Do you use silent running as well or just a fast straight in approach?

I ignore silent running, as I like to keep my shields up for any mistakes I might make, just in case. Just go fast and straight in (no need to boost and splatter yourself everywhere on the station's walls though). If you pop the heatsink, I guarantee you that nothing will scan you (heatsinks are better than silent running I believe).

okay so basically:

- aim straight at the station entrance from about 10kms out
- disable all major systems other than thrusters/shields?
- get approval about 7.5kms out (standard)
- get through as quick as possible to avoid being scanned

That about right?

I just boost towards the slot on a curving trajectory from where I dropped in (not continually, just once or twice). My normal breakneck docking entry. :)

...I'm sure some day I'll be scanned while doing it, but today is not that day.

Hi

will we all end up as enemies of the federation for doing this? Thanks

I have fought as Crimson supporter for several days now with a total of 10 million in bonds and 10 million so far in the Fidchell goal. Im allied to Crimson now but my rep with federation havent changed a bit. Still friendly.

Even if there is a drop in rep you can easily rebuild it... just switch sides once in a while :) they dont seem to care about that. (which is a little unrealistic tbh)

Actually it's as simple as others have suggested.. just go fast. I don't even use heat-sinks. I just boost once or twice from 7-9km out. To start off, do it from directly in front of the station. But you'll get cocky in time and try other angles. ;-)

(BTW.. Dullahan.. why would I ever want to go into a simple conflict zone ever again?)

Is this can be called a bug or an exploit?

Not really... there is an community goal for it. Get as much as you can, any way you can. Its a huge honeypot.

The issues with CMDRS going out and back in of the instance to "reload it" only spotlights a problem with persistence.

It's not guaranteed. Security can resolve you on their scanners if you're too close, no matter how cold you are.

Reducing your heat reduces that range but it has a hard coded minimum.

Also, relating to an above post, you can request docking way further out than 7.5k if it's a station. 7.5k is the limit for outposts.

Agree completely! Its really simple but adds so much to the whole conflict.

FD is on to something. As they build greater complexity into mission designs, players will enjoy E:D that much more. Yes, the PVP arena style of the Conflict Zones will always be popular with CMDR's. It's straight forward and not as demanding. (at the lower levels) BUT players need the complexity too. It engages, is demanding in different ways, etc.

Not sure if this is normal but around 4 out of my 5 attempts, the T9 carrying the cargo dropped nothing, I did not destroy it, I made sure to get the cargo hatch to 0%. My result was a bunch of nothing. Am I supposed to use limpets? This mission doesn't seem that great compared to regular shooting if I can't get the T9 to spawn even a ton.

I blow the hatch usually drops 5-6 canisters if you get it to zero, sometimes more. So it's at least working for me.

due to the enormous bounty on my head I actually used solo mode for the first time ever to do this, every time I checked the conflict zones in open there were 8+players, it was a nightmare i'd have been ganged and destroyed instantly. As suicidal as it was I still wanted to participate in this goal because i'd been following the lugh progress since release so I ventured into solo to contribute.

I've been dropping into solo to hit the beacon, I found in open I spend so much time tangling with the Feds I'm not actually achieving anything except chasing off Fed pilots.

I had no success when I shot the hatch to 0%, either. THe fx was to drop it to 20-40%ish, at which point it started leaking cargo.

Thanks! That seems to have fixed it, I shot the hatch to around 60% and 7t came out.

It is a bit hectic trying to scoop up the cargo while there are ships trying to shoot me, but pretty fun now that I can get some credits out of this.

So, this works really well. One time was bad and all the cargo got desroyed..but mostly it works really well. But I got scanned on 1 out of 3 tries and thats with flying in super fast. 500k fine... so all that time wasted :\
