Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

The point is, a LOT of people have put in a LOT of time to get Crimson State Group to where it is, it is an experiment in testing the background simulation. By fighting against it, you are actually undoing an incredible amount of very hard work - by telling you what missions to take at which station, they would be screwing themselves, and a LOT, and I really mean a gigantic amount of real world time and effort that has gone into this since the start of the game.

Something to consider before you "fight for the Feds" against the "terrorists".

Z...

How do you expect to get a real, proper test of the system without opposition, though?

The plot thickens. Latest Galnet.

Faith in President Falling
Recent popularity polls have scored the President at a shockingly low 26% approval rating, with 43% of those questioned stating that they strongly disapprove of the President’s current policy decisions.

Doubtless the latest developments in the war for Lugh are sure to be of huge concern for President Halsey. Not only has her mismanagement of the war caused the death of countless innocent Federal civilians, many of whom died as a direct result of orders given by the President, but it also now seems certain that Hartsfield Market will fall to the rebel forces.

The Federation’s failure to protect Hartsfield is being blamed on a lack of equipment, a shortage caused in no small part by the President’s failure to ensure the appropriate supply chains were set up prior to launching an attack on Lugh’s airspace.

If something isn’t done to rectify the President’s mistakes soon, the Crimson State Group will capture Hartsfield and with it control of Lugh’s satellite defence system.

Looks like we may able to force the Feds back to the table.

some1 wanna wing up on operation dullahan? may be we can reach the next tier befor it expires =) send a request ingame to barneby

Approximately 12 hours left on Dullahan and ~185k* tons to go. While i am optimist i don't think we can make it to next tier. Still trying my best, currently with vulture, only 24 cargo capacity but pretty good shields. Already made it into top 5%, which seems to begin somewhere around 350 canisters of intel.

Well, this is where I think this thing was overheated too soon. Should have been a "civil war" first, with com goals that are less "Feds v Terrorists" type things, and were the civil war won, then bring in the Feds, the Cap ship etc...

If you are going to test, let's test every step.

Just started Dullahan - 24 cannisters is enough for 40%.. Wow, that is not much. I don't have that much time today, but hopefully I can do one more run tonight before the goal closes - hoping to fill the 208T cargo capacity of the Python...

im gonna pull an allnighters in my vulture as well =) lesser shield but 40 cargo. safes the time => increases output^^

Oh dang.
Disaster struck in Lugh today, following orders given by President Halsey demanding that Federal pilots attack and destroy an unarmed refugee convoy as it fled from the fighting around Lugh 6. It is estimated that 9,322 innocent Federal civilians lost their lives in the attack.
The President claims that she was presented with evidence by the Joint Intelligence Committee which confirmed that Éamonn Uí Laoghire, leader of the Crimson State Group, would be aboard one of the transports with his entourage.
However, sources close to the Crimson State Group claim that reports of Éamonn’s presence on the refugee ships were nothing more than fabrications.
Shadow President Hudson has sworn that an official investigation into the matter will be launched once the current crisis is over.

It took me a few goes to get the Space Cow™ to actually drop cannisters, is it just me, or does it only actually drop stuff if hit with kinetic weapons? I went through 3 of them before I tried using multi-cannons, which work a treat. I seem to be managing to get the thing to drop 15 or so before some damn CSG NPC decides to knock the hatch to 0%...

Could be my sidey has 2 pulse lasers and I have mucho trouble but noticed those bigger ship seems to have both and tend to use kinetic ones so maybe that is it. Btw high barefoot bandit I was actually in a convoy with you earlier, you probably was wondering wth I was doing lol

Aahh - that was you! Always cool to see CMDR's from the game on the board! Anyway, grab a multicannon and give it a try, seems to work better (for me, anyway).

No, lasers do work. I had a class two beam on it and it dropped like normal.

Odd - my bursts seem to do nothing more than take it to 0%. I tried doing 10% at a time and waiting, and nothing. Usually give it at least 30-40seconds between taking down the next 10%...

Will give it another go, maybe I'll replace one of my bursts with a beam.

I was finally able to get out there today. I made a run out to the convoy beacon with CMDR Waldi and held my head high while keeping in mind that, as members of the CSG, we rejoice in how the community has accomplished so much.

Tonight, while flying around, I noticed that our humble pinpoint in spacetime was eveloped with the tide of opportunity and that the remnants of our enemies face the empty reality of retreat.

Congratulations Commanders!! A Crimson Dawn is upon us!

However, the war is not over, yet. A purge is necessary. Continue to work together as you have. All Federal Commanders are to be killed on site and no mercy is to be had. They are an illegitimate authority in this system.

So with great pride I tell you, steady your aim, and calm your mind in the time in between breaths. For you have nothing to struggle with or fear. STAND TALL!... and with all your might, USE LUGH'S SPEAR!

So this is what i found out when experimenting with Convoy Beacon farming. I strongly reccomend doing this in wing of two.

Vulture. Replace shield generator with x32 cargo mount, and place lower grade shield to C4 mount. I am using E type generator, considering my power plant is already operating on 99%. With some clever power priorities settings you could use higher class for bonus shield integrity, but this seems to suffice. Here is full loadout:

Tactics is simple. Jump in, target T9 Heavy, aim for cargo hatch. First use C3 beam to take down it's shields, and then gently keep hitting the hatch with C1 beam until it begins dropping canisters. When it stops dropping, hit it again. C1 beam causes only small damage, but triggers the module malfunction exactly as C3 beam/pulse would do. This allows you to repeatedly cause it to drop cargo, potentionally even all of it. Good power distribution is 4SYS 2WEP or 4SYS 1WEP 1ENG, considering your shields are likely to get hit a lot. My personal safety margin is 33% (one ring), if shields drop below this jump out and in to restart them.

This has small downside. Depending on your piloting skills, it may be very hard or even impossible to collect all the canisters before they decay. That's why you should bring wingman to help you. One person should focus on taking out the hatch, second should begin collecting as soon as it begins dropping cargo. After hatch is destroyed, first person can grab some of the canisters for themselves. While i didn't get chance to test it, if second person doesn't hit the ships he/she should be relatively safe, so theoretically you may use cargo ship such as T6 (relatively cheap, decent cargo, acceptable shields as long as you avoid fight) to collect, and vulture (as outlined above) to break the hatch. Then swap and repeat as many times as you wish.

Best way to smuggle them to station so far seems to be silent running, did over 20 runs and never got scanned. As alternative, you may try to fit one chaff instead of booster.

// EDIT: If anyone is interested, i have few hours so we may do this together :) Message me in game, CMDR Atlantiscze.

Personally, hot docking works wonderfully well for smuggling in goods. ie - boost all the way tot he letterbox, when you hit the "cage", full reverse thrust, gear and scoop down - even a Python pulls up at half way through the station at full speed with this.

Also faster...

I wish canisters decayed at half the current rate, they go "boom way too quick. I tend to lose 3 or 4 out of every 20 dropped.
