[ANNOUNCEMENT] Win an Nvidia Geforce Titan Black in our in-game Scavenger Hunt

Two things:
1. As a rare commodity you'll be limited in the number of Titan Black that the station will allow you to keep in your cargo hold. I'm betting that the limit will be "1" so there will be no loading up on the commodity to drop outside the station or anything like that. Once you have your 1 titan black that will be it... get trucking CMDR.

2. There is an easy way to win without facing PVP or playing in open. Once you find your titan black contact a friend. A real friend. Someone you can trust. Have them wait INSIDE Godel Ring. Meanwhile you truck over to Godel in Solo mode, dock and then switch to Open. You both launch and you drop the cargo for your friend inside the station where he immediately scoops it up, just barely clears the letterbox, immediately requests docking and reverses back into the station. If he's a good friend he just gives you the card. If he's an okay friend you sell on eBay and split the cash. If you only thought he was your friend you shake your fist in anger.

Has anyone thought of a forming a massive group to search for it? All helping each other to find it? And protect the station that needs to be delivered to it? :) Perhaps a list of all stations visited?

I'm not sure they will be limited...

Hi everyone,

Starting at 5PM GMT today, you'll find Nvidia GeForce Titan Black Prototypes in stock at one mystery starport in Elite: Dangerous' galaxy. The Titan Blacks are available in unlimited supply...

You have to pick up and drop off the titan so that won't work.

The newsletter states you don't have to pick it up you just have to deliver it, even suggest that you should go and blockade the system if your too lazy to try and find one.

I wouldn't be surprised if all 5 are taken by gankers. They should have made it a mission and only revealed the delivery location in the mission details. It sucks that loads of players are spending hours searching just to get ganged by campers that have done nothing... that's if they get ganked....

I would not be at all surprised that those finding the precious cargo suddenly find themselves in an instance only reachable by themselves and perhaps a token friend. The whole thing is so open to abuse it's laughable.

An interesting thought about the personalities of these "gankers" - would they take a graphics card from someone walking down the street?

The way that you deliver them has to be given some thought though. Remember that you have the knowledge of where to find them and can go get another cannister, the ganker has to risk never finding you again or another ganker getting it.

The knowledge is more important, so play it right and I think you have the upper hand.

Who gives a damn about main mode or not, I play the game how and when I choose and should have an equal opportunity to win the prize without having the run the gauntlet of better equipped or better skilled human pilots.

I am absolutely fine dodging computer controlled adversaries.

Jenrai,
I also "play the game how and when I choose", and I have an equal opportunity to win the prize,
if I only decide to give my shot in the very contest, by its rules.

When my gaming character is making a decision whether or not to take part in "this particular... tempting even..." contest, he has to consider all the given details stated in the initial advertisement of the contest.

In this case, it would be very unfair to "me" to
- compete in this very contest when playing anywhere else than in the OPEN.

I have played only in the Solo mode and after I was granted the membership of the Mobius' Player vs The Environment group, I have played in it, I have to admit that.

I hope You understand that,
- being a mainly Solo player
- being a member of any private group (at least the rules of the Mobius) DOES NOT prevent "you" from logging into the game as an Open player and taking part in any "openly" published event.

Do we get any info when they are found? If FD says: "Now has one been bought"

DON'T PANIC! (be sure of You have taken your towel on-board, though)

I am sure the FD will announce the winners in their upcoming newsletters. Have some patience in waiting for that, though :)
