Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

Hey folks, sorry to be scarce this weekend, but my house is finally repaired! A quick note on this:

Last May a tree fell into my home and destroyed our living room. We have finally, been able to get the electric back and are waiting for the final inspection. This means, the free time I have this weekend, and the rest of this week will be used to clean up messes and re install our living room electronics and theater system. I am watching the forums, but my time in game will be limited. I will be in for short times at best. Keep on keeping on! I will see everyone on TS...

Woah. That is the. best. excuse. ever. for not having much time to be in-game. Can't think what a nightmare that must have been! Glad to hear that things are nearly fixed.

I did a stack of missions over the weekend, out of Knight and Balandin. All were successful, until I chose an infernal assassination mission... which branched itself into oblivion. I was left with a mission to kill Person A or Person B, in one of three systems, with no clues from NPCs forthcoming... which meant the target itself was a total no-show. Disappointing.

I'll say this, though... a Strong Signal Source + Vulture = 7 easy Pirate kills! :)

Ugh Im in exactly the same boat 3 systems, 2 options.. spent an hour diving into USS with no sign of the guy I need to kill for crimson. Does this reset or do they remain unresolvable?

Greetings, Warriors and Citizen of Lugh!

I return from a long trip in my homeland, and i returned just in time to take part in the military operations and buy myself a brand new Fer-de-Lance.
Now i'm back and ready to serve again, should anyone need an escort, or another warship in their wing, hook me up.

PRO TIP FOR ASSASSINATION MISSIONS:

I see a couple of you expressing dissatisfaction with the assassination missions recently, so let me help.

I did 10+ last night, all without a hitch. the problem is when you get offered the alternate goal. screws it all up. here's how you prevent it from happening.

every time you drop into the USS, bring guns out immediately. if there is a single ship there, you have about a 25% chance it's going to try to dissuade you from killing whatshisname. the other 75% is useless technology freighters, "he's over here!" guy, and the target himself -- assuming you've narrowed down his location already.

if you see the target say ANYTHING along the lines of "we heard you were attempting to kill our beloved general" or "we've been watching you since you entered the system," IMMEDIATELY START SHOOTING.

you don't have to kill him, just damage him. he'll stop talking, and you can jump out and look for another USS.

works every time :)

I think you can still finish the mission for the faction it was given to you even if you get the alternate goal offered in this single ship USS's. If you got this alternate goal just go to the system where to assasinate your target catch it in an USS and destroy the npc you had too in the given mission description. The mission will be finished now for the faction you accepted the assassination.

CSG missions seem to be on the up again, and the best place for picking them up at present seems to be Read Gateway. On the last run I had the choice of 3 for Sesuang, or 3 for LTT4846, mostly courier stuff which leaves your hold free for profit :)

the issue is when you get the alternate missions before you narrow down where the target is. if that happens, there is a good chance you won't ever find out where to look for him.

Yes, that's what happened to me. The "alternate target" branch occurred first. No "he's over there!" NPC comment was forthcoming after that.

Bewdy, thanks. I'll be absolutely sure to search Anarchies first, lol.

Just checked the "known bugs list", dated 26/03. It's in there. :)

Nice cape!

So, not going to hijack this.

Some of you actually answered my questions regarding Alliance membership. I see that's not on your plans due to design. Can't say I blame you, you have realistic reasons for not pursuing that course, largely to do with your distance from Alliance space.

Well thank you for getting back to me, a shame it's not your plan for the future, guess we'll all see how things go. Good luck, see you again eventually.

doth mother know you weareth her drapes? Muhahaha
In all seriousness lads its all fun and games till somebody loses their cape.

Did I miss something?

After a bad start to the evening where I destroyed my Python by boosting it into the back of Hartsfield Market (wasn't concentrating, cost 3m Cr, now have 5A rather than 3A shields), I reckon I did about 20 missions of different types. Let's hope it keeps working!

Quite a lot of commanders hanging around in Lugh in Open Play last night, most of whom I didn't recognise. Hello if that was you!
