At least the new ship is named after a snake...but give over on the pointless wings.

(And please no comments regarding the planetary landing expansion.)
 
The 200Cr fine (not bounty unless you don't pay it for 24 hours) is not from a stupid NPC flying in front of you, but for a stupid CMDR not using his scanner to see that an NPC is about to fly in front of him.

That must be the most stupid reply I have seen on the matter. So you see someone shooting someone else, you go INTO THE LINE OF FIRE and then the other CMDR is stupid for not noticing you being suicidal???? Seriously, never get in any conflict in game or IRL cause things will end bad for you.

Is it me because I even think the Diamondback looks like an unattractive ship. I mean it looks better than the Vulture which looked so atrociously disgusting and about as sleek as a boulder.. I couldn't even fly it because it looked like a Mr. Hanky. I'm a personal fan of sleek looking ships (like the Eagle, Viper maybe, ASP, Python, etc). I like ships that don't look like blocks or boxes, and I prefer them to have a center mass instead of extending out to the horizontal sides (viper vs cobra).
 
The exploration 'bug' is hitting me hard! LOL
System visited count is being updated real-time
Lvl 2 is not (and number is wrong)
Lvl 3 is not either (and the number is 0)

I am playing since Beta. Any other Beta Premium players for a cross check?
 
WTG Frontier Developments on your latest patch.

Now you have stopped players from being able to support capital ships, as you are meant to do, and a game choice, its clear you have now become a games company which listens ONLY to the complainers.
I war in a was zone today, was kitted out as I would be for any war zone/res point or nav beacon (Gimbled weapons) out of 20 kills I got bounty from just 2 ships. Is this the solution to people exploiting at a capital ship? Instead of thinking this through you took the easy option and gave into the complainers instead of hitting the exploiters. Why didn't you just make a kill zone around the capital ship. If you are within 500 meters of the capital ship it would target you and give a warning to move away, second warning within 5 seconds caused capital ship to attack player. A simple solution to stop players camping inside or on top of a capital ship. But instead you gave into those 5% of players who just want everybody to play by their rules and be cannon fodder for their guns. Its a shame that with every patch Elite Dangerous is falling into a game called "Elite for gankers"

Elite may be the fastest game selling on Steam, but how many will leave one they realise that their views are being totally ignored just so Mr Pker or Mr Ganker can get their own way. We have 3 different modes of play for a reason, but still every day players feel totally discriminated against because your Moderators allow that 5% of players to openly abuse people who do not wish to PvP or play in Open mode.

I love Elite and have owned every version of this game since 1984. Even though every game was bugged I still felt there was hope for this game. Now I feel as though Myself and fellow players who do not play in open all the time are being openly bullied into open and are constantly under the impression the Frontier Developments will ignore everything we say or want just so they can keep that 5% happy.

It will be a very sad day when Frontier Developments force every player into Open play after they close Solo off to players who just want to play the game. Remember you are already Discriminating against solo players already, what will you dream up next.

I do not care what people say about me, I will not be bullied by people who think they have a right to force me to play their style of game play, And do not say they aren't already because their complaints to FD are already making changes to this game which nobody really wants.

I have tried to be constructive, but everybody knows you will just ignore my post and everybody else's post which does not support gankers and pkers. who

Can we expect the 'tactical' skins soon (i.e. the second image from the recent newsletter)?

What does a 'tactical' skin look like? Something that camouflages the ship so that it is harder to see against the backdrop of space? So, that would be black paint with a few stars painted on it? :)
 
Fix a case where a ship with damage regions and no shields could try to save a game before its defense data has been initialised, resulting in showing in the GUI as a ship that's unrepairable at 0% health

So, if I parse this out, does it read as follows?: "Fix a case where a ship with damage regions and no shields (i.e. been beaten to a bloody pulp) could try to save a game (i.e. alt+F4?) before its defense data has been initialized (?????????????? meaning before its state of repair is uploaded??? This is obfuscate-speak if I've ever heard it), resulting in showing in the GUI as a ship that's unrepairable at 0% health (meaning the "fix" now results in the GUI showing that the ship's unrepairable?).

Does this mean that combat logging when heavily damaged will result in returning to the game at 0% health? I.e. when you log back on, the only thing you see is your ship blowing up in your face?

If so, then hooray for those who have combat logged! But what of those who get caught up in the grille surrounding the mailslot and alt+f4 to prevent being slowly macerated to oblivion? To me, that is a valid use of alt+f4. Will this be treated the same as combat loggers? Am I even understanding what Michael wrote correctly?
 
I tried that 2 or 3 times - i usually end up leaving a paint smear somewhere close to where it says "The Empire welcomes careful drivers" Quite often the last thingthat goes through my brain as i realsise ive missed again is the back of the seat

As soon as I stopped laughing and could see again, I clicked the "+1 Rep" button. Comedy at its finest.

Let me try this one.
When you're in supercruise, you're not attackable, so all of the combat-related data (shields, defense data, etc.) isn't setup. When you exit supercruise for any reason (e.g. link-dead, alt-f4, game crash, etc.), the server saves your game with all of that stuff uninitialized. If your ship had damage zones, and had no shields, then restoring that saved game would leave things in a bad state (unrepairable at 0% health). They fixed that bug.
That's how I read it, anyway. There are probably other circumstances that result in a game-save in the "ship is damaged, ship has no shields, defense stats are not initialized" state beyond the scenarios I mentioned. Sounds like they fixed the "restore that state and wind up bugged" problem without regard to how a player got into that state.

Level 2 updates after you log out and back in again.. Level 3 says 0 also....

For some reason, since this patch, a new Independent Corporate faction named Worldcraft (pretty cool), who has no influence in any nearby systems that I can find, has expanded into the system I'm in. Didn't see anything related in the patch notes but I thought that this was very odd. This also brings the total faction count in the system up to 6. This is frustrating but I guess I can work with it.

The system is Epsilon Eridani by the way.
 
Apologies if I missed it, I clicked through the dev posts in this thread, can someone post how big the download for this update is. This is really important information for those of us on mobile internet connections. I need to know if I can afford the download before I start it.

No idea about the size, but it was the quickest update ever for me - indicates quite small amount of data to download methinks...
