I've removed the spring and am hoping that helps...
Do you mean the large main spring?
Forgive me for asking, but does that not make your joystick all floppy?

Real A-10s do not have a twist. Hence its replica stick does not.

I believe it's meant to be an A-10 stick replica, which obviously wasn't a twist stick.
Personally I prefer not having it, but I guess if the stick twist could be disabled/locked for those who don't want it, that would suit everyone.
Warthog is a waste of money, inside it is built like crap. Many suffer from stiction issues due to cheap plastic components. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y0GbgcQpWao also see here for a fix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6LX4GMJIj4 Shouldn't have to do that for a £400 flight stick. You may not notice issues unless you fly a flight sim that requires very precise movements. I bought a warthog and sent it back. Bought CH products fighter stick, peddles, and pro throttle instead £320 much better in my opinion.
Disagree. Inside, the stick gimbal is plastic but it's a high density plastic, pretty similar in fact (amusingly) to what your CH stick and its gimbal mechanism is made from so... pot, kettle, black etc.Warthog is a waste of money, inside it is built like crap.

Glad you're happy with it although "better" is, as you say, your opinion. I paid £199 for my Warthog over four years ago (was on offer at the time)Bought CH products fighter stick, peddles, and pro throttle instead £320 much better in my opinion.
If I could replace my mouse with this thing, I would.
I know that I have an addiction - to complement my amazing warthog and DK2 I have just ordered crosswind pedals and a buttkicker. Must stop reading the forums ...
I agree, it is a needed feature to make it user friendlier to a wider audience. Not everyone wants a replica stick for a single aircraft, who would want a different stick for every type of craft? You'd need dozens just to play one game.I looked at getting one but saw that it did not have a twist stick for the rudder. That has to be a killer. Why they would not include that on such a costly device is weird. i guess they assume you have that with rudder pedals but not everyone wants to mess with pedals.

Hah. Frontier REALLY should be getting a cut of all the business they're pushing ...
The toy one looks to be way shorter to me, this would change the angle of rotation from it's axis.View attachment 29669

The throttle has been slightly modified but the stick is the same.
No, it's far too small of an audience to be noticed in a global marketplace. FSX would make a noticeable impact though. No kidding. It took me four months between ordering a Warthog and actually receiving it. Availability was like zero ... everywhere.
I wonder if the manufacturers really do notice an uptick due to ED ?

But if you look at Wikipedia page on the A-10 it looks completely different to the one you posted.
The basic shape is there but where the thumbstick is halfway down in the photo there is a button, and you only have a single coolie hat and button and not three directional controls.
