I am very tempted to give this a rest until we get some breadcrumb, no matter how small it is. Even if it's something as small as telling us if it needs to be a specific system or not.

BUT (I don't like what I'm about to say) DB said that there is a secret in "deep space". You reach deep space when you leave the 'populated' area of any system. Unfortunately, in my experience, the USS/WSS occur more frequently in these 'populated' parts of a system (near a planet, main star).

Maybe, the UA only spawn in WSS when you are in the "deep space" area of a system. (I already feel the pain.)

God dam I hope not....might narrow it down though.

Haha I just jumped into a WSS 300,000 Ls in He Bo, deep space. Saw that there was wreckage and only one cargo object....

I was actually crossing my fingers but it was only Prototype Tech...dayum

This is what I've been doing. Finding Deep Space within a system and cruising SC at zero throttle waiting for SS to pop.

lol I've had that 3 times now in Timocani :D
looks like I'll be heading in to deep space to try there, I've mainly been flying between planets so far

I just had wine....bloody wine 450,000 Ls out

last night I was averaging 1 WSS every 45 seconds and it was in a zero population system. LHS 412 to be exact.

He Bo news could be a nod to the theory that Signal Sources spawn more often in heavily populated system?

I mentioned NPC traffic is linked to SS frequency a few pages back. G 203-47 was where I tested it yesterday as it has twin earths in close proximity and a massive amount of traffic going in-between. Signal sources pop up every 15-20 seconds there, but having just spent an hour over in He Bo I noticed there seems to be a lot more weak signal sources in that system than there is in G 203-47. In wonder if WSSs are what we should be targeting?

I've typed up a news article I'm wondering if we should submit to the "Player Events" Section of the Gal-Net News.

Any Feeback is welcome.
Date: 5/1/15 until specimen procured.
Location:He Bo

A group of scientists have placed a request for 1 ton of a hard-to-find specimen.
They are interested in finding and studying the contents of a canister filled with "Unknown Artifacts."

The lead scientist conducting the study, Commander Arcanonn, has offered a 1 million credit reward in the form of Palladium to any Commander who procures such a specimen and brings it to him, or any of his team, intact at the Krylov Ring in the He Bo System.
It is speculated that these artifacts can be located in any system by scouring signal sources of any strength as well as the cargo holds of the ships there-in.

Dr. Arcanonn had this to say about this request: "With the recent infestation of an alien parasite in the citizens He Bo, we wish to do everything we can to help these people. We hope that the traders carrying these artifacts will be persuaded to bring them to help our research continue, for a substantial reward. We do not encourage or condone the assault or harassment of anyone who may be in possession of such an artifact. We will not, however, question the methods used to procure such a rare find. We simply wish to use this as a way to help the people of He Bo in their time of need."

/end news

He Bo seemed like a decent choice given the recent alien "outbreak," also provided a reason for why the scientists need it there. Also Arcanonn, I know I put words into your mouth. If you like them, Then I'll keep it, if not let me know what you'd rather say.
I'm just certainly not the lead on this. I figured since you started the post and have been updating it, you're the closest to the lead we've got.

Anyone have thoughts on what should/should not be in there? Since FD has asked that we submit player events It seemed more appropriate for us to put together the article than to hope that FD put something together that we'd have to work with.

This way we can get the galaxy involved, with substantial motivation, and have it delivered to us.

Yeah, He Bo has a lot of WSS showing up, it's all I'm dropping into now in deep space.

to further confirm the "deep space" theory, we might need to access the memories of "I and I Redeye" and his *SS technique. Do you stay at the star and wait, or fly around and pick them up? ....

another 'sound recording' was posted on redditt a couple of hours ago.
Yep, a new account again.

I never went any further than normal space. I stayed close to the sun or station most of the time. Sometimes when I was in SC looking for haulers I would stop and wait for WSS but never did anything unusual.

I'm really starting to doubt myself. Someboby would have picked one up by now.

FD have to be trolling us. I 100% picked them up.

Michael, you have to check my game files and confirm this.

Go for it if you think they will run it. I guess we don't consider just how many players never read the forums......I don't mind being the lead scientist as long as there's no press conference with tricky questions ;)

Also anyone should feel free to dip in and out of searching don't want people burning out on this.

Odds are we will find it when not looking lol.

For me right now the out breaks and pod (unknown artefact) are linked story wise. However perhaps any system with an obreak the pod has already landed/burst or whatever they do.

That's just a wild theory. I'm persiting with Isinor as it was one of the systems the new six items were added to or something like that.

Good god this is quite an effort, massive thanks to all and anyone who even puts in half an hour let alone days.

ah G 203-47 is the most populated system in the galaxy :)

Unrelated but funny.
I am not in these systems but I am dropping in xSS whenever I see one. So, I dropped into an SSS yesterday and it was a Type 9 that immediately deployed weapons so it made me curious. It had an escort of a couple of Type 7 and a few sidewinders. After locking into the type 9 it said Bridal escort or something similar. I thought for a moment to save the poor from getting married but I left them alone :)

That's a lot of firepower for just your average wedding... hmm I wonder who it was? Maybe in 1.3 we get more info on that kind of stuff.
