I never went any further than normal space. I stayed close to the sun or station most of the time. Sometimes when I was in SC looking for haulers I would stop and wait for WSS but never did anything unusual.
I'm really starting to doubt myself. Someboby would have picked one up by now.
FD have to be trolling us. I 100% picked them up.
Michael, you have to check my game files and confirm this.
Breaking the fourth wall for a moment, I think it's entirely possible that UA were
previously more plentiful in the expectation that someone handling them would notice their secret, but when it became clear that we were just not paying attention and had to be explicitly led by the nose to the clue, then UA rareness may have been cranked up to prevent those explicit instructions from making discovery utterly trivial to accomplish. The mystery needs to last long enough for players to hear about it BEFORE it's already over. With what we've been told, it would be over in the snap of the fingers if UA's were only moderately rare, and so far very few players have heard about it. I would guess that two weeks is a good time frame for a mystery, so I'm not worried in the slightest about UA being hard to find

I only get a chance to play every few days, so I like that the hunt lasts long enough that I get a chance to participate.
Now (back behind the fourth wall) my own suspicion is that WSS is more important than location - that you were finding UA's because you were camping WSS's, rather than because you were in a specific system. I haven't heard anyone else here say "I was camping WSS's back then too, but never found a UA" - I think most of us only went into WSS occasionally, while you dropped into quite a lot of them (plus you remembered the UA, plus you are aware of the search for a UA).
So, while I've looked in Timocani, I'm regarding WSS anywhere as potentials, so I'm going to try some systems that have more frequent WSS's.
Also, I dropped into a bunch of SSS in Timocani, and I don't think we're likely to find UA's there - I never saw any debris fields, just traders being attacked and dropping regular goods, merchant caravans (carrying regular goods), naval fleets (carrying regular goods), etc. The non-market goods that we're after seem to be more of a WSS thing.
