Soontill Relics, the Regor Permit Sector and DB's cryptic hints....

Why have we suddenly come across so many today? We've spent nearly a week running down leads and found nothing. Today everyone is finding them.

Only Red Wizzard found one (at least, the first one). Then it lost all integrity and exploded, but some of us could still see it. Then a few of us picked it up...they seemed to multiply. I think it's a bug (no pun intended...), but that's how I got mine.

Can you elaborate again how you got the coordinates?

And: it would make sense the Thargoids would use Sag A* as 0,0,0 as it is the only real universal point of origin. Could this be why the texan is in a hurry to get there?
It would make as much sense as Humanity using Sag A* as their 0,0,0

Do you get the feeling that someone is spending their Bank Holiday Monday faffing about with the backend NPC code? :D

Either that or the spawn lotto is generous on Mondays and stingy for the remainder of the week.

Either way so close.... so very close.

For decoding, has anyone tried things with numbers? Because it might make sense to use an octal number system, if we suspect Thargoids.
Is there an audio clip where we clearly hear the repeats, so we can be sure that we have the entire 'message'?

well, it was your SSS eagle ... thanks for that ;)

Well the thanks goes to Wishblend for the 109 Virg tip.

Still though I'm convinced something is up today because I saw other Military convoys en route to 109V. Two jumps earlier I had a Hafnium convoy. Never seen one before.

This is where a post from MB would go a long way. We've found one, We've listened to it and there are no obvious signs pointing to anything.. other than freaky foreboding alien noises.

I think you guys are making this more complicated than it is. Frontier dropped perfect hints in the 1.2 trailer and no one even noticed. Now that we have the unknown artefact and it's making audio you want to try and decode it. They said listen to it. It looks and sounds alien. I'm pretty sure that's all there is to it.

I agree. If there is anything to hear it shouldn't be too hard to analyze.

As to the questions people asked about the replicating properties: we were looking at Wizard's UA with a number of CMDRs, some saw it degrade to 10%, then I noticed mine was still at 100%. Then everybody turned out to have different percentages. I heard the UA blow up but being at 100% it was still there. Then people, including myself, started to scoop up their surviving UA's. Apparently we now each had our own. This does feel most like a bug in the multi-player communication.

Really sorry guys my ED Client has been crapping out on me lately and it just happened to have picked THAT moment when it did it.

Here's a screenshot for posterity.

Sadly I have to get back to work :/

Nice hud colours

Just a point of interest. In the last 10 jumps I have been interdicted by military inspections 5 times. I have never had this much hassle (Not wanted btw & good fed rep) Maybe they want their toys back ? I think they maybe a bit annoyed we are nicking them ?

Yup, it happens plenty with normal cargo - the clients disagree on whether it was destroyed or not, resulting in "extra" ones.

I have found 3 today

He should, traditionally, be stuck in a traffic jam on the way home from a family Bank Holiday day out about now. ;)

I am hearing the following pattern (L = low, H = high, X = honk):

LHLHHLXH
LLHLHXH
HLLHHLXH
LHHLLHXH

Translated to decimal (dropping the XH at the end each time, as I infer this as EOL) this either gives:
010110 - 22
00101 - 5
100110 - 38
011001 - 25

or

101001 - 41
11010 - 26
011001 - 25
100110 - 38

If I convert to morse, only taking L as dot and H as dash makes any sense, giving the following:
. - . - - . = CA or NP
. . - . - = LT or DN
- . . - - . = UW or AP
. - - . . - = GD or NX

This doesn't seem useful yet...

I find it amusing that he is called Libation. Maybe he had a bit too much to drink too? :D

It makes sense for a preacher - a libation is an offering made to the gods (often but not always liquid).
We all learned the word by context from that scene in Tron Legacy when the Son of the Maker walks into a bar, but his toast was a more beautiful play on language than the context alone could reveal :)

No, our gorup alone has found 3 total, and managed to recover, and dupe, one.
