This is why we need a complete unadulterated recording from spore explosion to spore explosion.
The complete sequence might well have an additional dimension to it. That's speculation btw, I don't know anything more than anyone else.

That's not possible - at least, not with what we've been doing so far. The artefact loses integrity in normal space so fast that you can't get any repeating sequence out of it; the extended audio clip I posted is the result of dropping it, listening, picking it up again (at < 9% integrity) then dropping it again (back to 100%).

That would at least suggest that it needs an oxygen-based atmosphere to survive (since it doesn't lose integrity inside the ship). Thus far in the game, there's only one way of replicating that kind of environment outside the ship - in a Coriolis or Ocellus station. Thing is, that's likely to get either me or the artefact blown up; I'm not convinced I want to do that until I've exhausted the audio possibilities.

I just think theSpaceTexan knows a lot more about these UA's. Funny how he knew where to find them (gave us all a good riddle that seemed to pan out) then the next day he makes a bee-line to SAG A (without the artefact, as toxic) makes me think we're supposed to find the artefacts origin using SAG A as the point of reference. It's a long trip to make unless your fairly sure your on to something.

Aye, you guys are now a lot closer to the truth. However, are you willing to venture into the darkness and discover the truth hidden within the truth?

If so, then go out there brave Adventurers and find what secrets are still left to be told...

How the hell can we get it there if its "rots" the ship before you get anywhere ?

It's probably just an alien coffee machine, which will be installed in the new federal corvettes... yup.
Not sure I'd drink that coffee though.

Hows about taking one to the nearest Black Hole to see if that does anything?

Okay, don't go to Sagittarius A with this thing, unless you're going to dump it there.

Sounds like he's pushing someone to take a plunge into Sag A*... of course he couldn't have taken the item with him it would have corroded his ship to nothingness way before the 29000LY trip to the center.

The truth within the truth is that theoretically speaking the larger the black hole the more surviveable they are once you cross the event horizon and that is because the event horizon is a lot further away from the singularity (about Neptune's orbit) then a stellar size so you don't hit tidal forces right away. Einstein's theory then further expands that if a black hole has spin and charge it may twist reality in a way that you could use it as a wormhole to somewhere else where then you'd exit from a white hole. And then let's face it our ships theoretically bend space so they are faster than light so again theoretically we should be able to get out of one if tidal forces don't spaghettify us first. Question is is Sag A* the gate of Raxxla? sure is beginning to sound like it.

Well, downloaded that artefact soundclip from the first page and speeded and pitched it up. There is clearly some pattern there and two short main pitches going up and down. I counted 5 different sequences and then the pattern
probably starts over again, not sure because frameshift drive engages.

Might be totally unintentional and irrelevant but still.

Sry, my bad english
Carry on Commanders.

Take it one step at a time guys, you have the first and major important bit, the unknown Artifact. Take it slow and enjoy the riiidddeeee.

wait the artefact rots the ship ?
leonard nimoy
Yes it rots your ship and it's like a tick rot so like every 15 seconds or something it does a random amount of damage to your modules, however it wasn't too much for me to tavel from 109 Virgnis to the leonard nimoy station about 117 light years distance traveled.
