Is it just me or when it's speeded up around 12-16 times it sounds like countdown? The intervals between sounds become shorter and the pitch of the sound becomes higher as the message is goes on. Then after scooping and droping again the sond is slower and lower.

Considering it explodes at the end end, I think this is a good lead.

I disagree. He basically told us how to find the damn thing, without handing it on a plate and ruining the mystery. He is also one of only 5 to get one of those video cards. Why so quick to discredit? He has history with this kind of thing. It looks like a lot of jealousy to me, particularly from one individual (not you Zenith).

Anyway, I digress, I appreciate your comments and leads Texan. Please don't let others put you off. I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Its probably because its a hoax that he is perpetrating that he knows so much. hth

I stated this before.. I have a feeling that there is no next step... As of yet.

I think that the devs saw how enthusiastic we were in finding the UA.. And manipulated the spawn rate today. I do think that they are adding more content.. But were unprepared for our initial response.

I'm prepared to wait a day or two for them to implement the next step.

One thing to consider is whether they would require us to utilize 3rd party software.

I think when they implement the next phase.. It can be decoded in game + official lore.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... Stop you're making my sides hurt!

Go ahead then list all the clues he gave us. I'll check in the morning. (But don't be jealous.)

I'm currently at work, but I'm looking at the 2'sC that somebody else mentioned for the provided coordinates from the audio message. I'm also looking at converting to/ from base 6 or 7. If anybody saw the old Jodie Foster movie "Contact," wasn't the Vegan message in base 12? Also, if we're talking about looking at coordinates on a galactic scale, wouldn't cylindrical or spherical coordinates make more sense?

Also, for the heck of it, I'm thinking I'll try the raw high/ lo tones in IEEE 754 single and double precision. I'll see what happens there.

I thought that was my imagination (or too long spent listening to it). You could be right...that might be a good way to determine a possible sequence (ie based on the pitch). Of course...if this thing's alive, then it could simply be that it's dying out in space and panicking.

Has anyone tried taking it to Diso... previously a Dr native to there was developing a power source from Thargoid tech...

This sound sorta pulsates, i noticed a lot of beeping noises like a sonar or something when entering a lot of Feds station recently... i think it might be connected somehow

Loaded it up in Audacity. Played it twice speed, half speed, reversed and its just noise as far as I am concerned. The audio clip on page 1 unfortunately has ship sounds as well in there.

please, try it again!

Listen carefully, maybe take another sample to get it right.

Take the low tuba for 0, the higher for 1, ignore the honk, as I think it's just a distorting noise.

I got 0110101101100101100011010110011001011010, but I am a bad listener [just used an equalizer to reduce the honk (that also contains tuba-sounds) and amplified the nearly silent parts].

That first told me, that the sequence is incomplete and tries to plot a course from 107/101/141 to 102/90, but then I had a closer look to the galaxy map, that uses 5 digits coordinates (12 bits), so according to my listening it would be somewhere near BYOI TREIA KY-Z D13-0 @ 1718,1421,6550, what I believe to be wrong.
I took my python to the region around Shojon, but that's just boring borderspace.

What leads me to this theory? FDev gave us a hint, they don't assume us to have more scientific capacities than a explorer-fitted Anaconda. So I guess it could easily relate to the "human" / ingame cords. What will we find, when we reached the goal? Maybe a new shipwreck model or a planet, that once contained intelligent life...

Could someone please try listening again and check if the "real" coordinates lead somewhere?

I think you're probably right, although the next step may not be implemented until 1.3.

I'm a bit dubious about the hidden message thing now and think finding the artifact is pretty much the end of this chapter for now.

In hindsight I also have my doubts that FD would expect players to have to use third party products to help solve in-game riddles. The clues should be all kept in game imo.

I think this thing is about He Bo. The next phase will be what happens there.

Some people are saying that it changes every time you listen to it. If thats the case maybe the homing beacon theory has some merit.
Try just flying around with it and observe any changes. Maybe record it every 50 LY or so and compare recordings?

Just thinking of space texans clue ...

"Take it one step at a time guys, you have the first and major important bit, the unknown Artifact. Take it slow and enjoy the riiidddeeee."

r iii ddd eeee

1 3 3 4 ?

Any meaning ?
