Is that all there is to go?

I will drop 100 tins of Palladium for whoever gets the last post on this thread (sorry mods but you're not eligible for this).

Nah, not for 100 canisters that i have to scoop.

You know, i'm playing solo... credits are just raining down on me without doing anything....

There is nothing to admit. We don't believe that these things are problems.

Well opinions are varied on this...sorry to be the bearer of bad news...check the Vox Populi thread...Both sides are represented there. Why would the devs bother with that thread if they didn't see a problem?

Feeling there are problems between the play modes speaks of greed, envy and being selfish.

There was no personal attack in the discussion. Seeing issues within the game does not align with any of these issues. Desiring a balanced game also does not mean anyone is being greedy, envious, or selfish.

yep, this was uncalled for... sorry.

but i feel so tired sometimes.

Whats needed is a community goal that involves solo players bringing flowers to open players and vice-versa. I think 20billion tons should about prove you all really love each other.

Hmpf...

A few days ago, I mentioned how much I appreciate the nice, constant 60fps I'm getting on Ultra Settings w/ SMAA enabled in Solo/Group play.

Hopping into the 78 Ursae Majoris System in Open Play today, this is was I saw (even after I reduced Detail Levels to Medium default Preset) :
ELITE-OpenPlay-BusyInstance-FPS-hit.jpg

Never seen anything that bad in Open Play, and I've been in very busy places before.
For me, it means I can't run around there in Open Play...

Could it be that the recent merging of Mac Clients changed something to that tune ?
Is my FX-6300 CPU (6 cores @ 3.5GHz) suddenly becoming a severe bottleneck? (GPU is an AMD R9 290, RAM is 8GB DDR3-1866 and I'm running off dual SSD)

------------
Anyway - now I'm kinda stuck in Solo basically, as I naturally don't want to play @ 10fps or even less...

PS.
Since I've never seen it so incredibly bad, I've filed that experience as a bug report : https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=145301
(if you've made similar experiences - or the contrary, feel free to chime in)

It's common knowledge because it was one of the things a lot of people were excited for in the wings update. It was in one of the newsletters, the manual and the patch notes for wings.

And the average player reads none of those. Games nowadays need to be developed to still be accessible to players that never get any spare bit of information about the game and its mechanics beyond what is given in-game (and even then not all of it, because players tend to skip any and all dialog boxes).

Perhaps Frontier could add an holographic clippy that automatically deploys in this kind of emergency? :p

(And only half joking, BTW.)

This is the topic other people won't agree with, but traders are also at a disadvantage in open due to pirates and blockaders. Traders will be better off switching to solo to potentially aviod them. This one doesn't have an easy fix and idk how/if it can be resolved.

For traders, the most obvious is cargo insurance.

Ya know Jollyfingers it does always seem to end up like that. Even with the best intentions.

Let me put it another way: if there is even a slight chance I might be attacked by a player against my will, then I won't have a game to play at all, because that alone would make the game not worth playing anymore.

This is why I won't budge an inch about always being able to opt out of PvP, and by extension about being able to do all content with no PvP risk and without being under any disadvantage otherwise.

Caveat: one thing could change my opinion, and that would be to eliminate death penalties for PvP death. Then I could just ram my attacker, explode together, respawn, and resume playing as if the attack never happened. It's more or less what I did when playing WoW in a PvP realm. I don't think those that want more players out there for open PvP would appreciate it, though.

see my sig. just because i don't hate someone it doesn't mean i would bring them flowers in open play :)
