Hi, Aussiedroid!
I have to say, I admire the effort you have put in wrt the profiling, the result looks really great. I have an x55 as well, and have been fiddling with the programming software for some time now. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to program "modes", as you seem to be able to. That is, I've figured out how to program buttons to have different functions when the mode switch on the throttle is set to 1, 2 or 3. What I have not been able to figure out is how to program different functions within mode 1, while holding down a mode switch (specifically: the red pinky switch). I seem to recall this was possible in the programming software that came with the X45, but I can't seem to get it working now.
Neither the Saitek/MadCatz manual nor explanatory videos on youtube (or any other site I could find via google) have been able to help. Since you obviously know what you're doing, I was hoping you could help me understand how this could be done.
Thank you Vegar!
I think I understand your issue. Firstly, just to point out, the mode switches I have set up have all been mapped directly in ED (hold one button and press the second to map). This gave me some different mappings to a single key without having to use the full mode switch option on the X55. The full mode switch option on the X55 I actually havent used.
Saying that, to use the full mode switch, you would really need to map all the keys to the Saitek profile software, but this might depend on what you want to do. If you only had it mapped in ED, then I believe you wouldnt be able to change the mapping per mode in Saitek software. From what I understand, once you have set up a mapping in your Saitek profile you can set that to any key on any mode you want. You need to change the View to see the other modes, which should show a grid view so you can easily map across the modes.
This might help, its not for ED but covers the basics (fast forward to about 18min mark for a quick bit on the modes):

Hope it helps!
I'm especially impressed with how you seem to have been able to get one button to function both as a mode switch and as a concrete function (FA off)
A peculiarity in the way the buttons work I think (was just luck that I came across it, or should I say messy button programming lol). ED seems to be able to identify that both a single key press is pressed (FA Off) and also identify that the combo is being used and also functions at the same time. Being you press the button in short presses, the FA Off doesn't really interfere with the mode switch.
P.S - For those using my profile currently, I am working on a 'Powerplay' 1.5 update that I am testing. I will post it once Powerplay is released (and I know there is no more new buttons to map
