PS. The Treaty signees are on board. Stop quoting the Treaty back at us. I called the meeting where it was proposed and I wrote the Treaty after the fact.
There treaty in its present state is broken (as we've seen from the responses of various commanders). It would perhaps be sensible to adjust the terms of its key points. Most of the issues people have had with this incident was because the EIC whilst acting in the spirit of said treaty, were in fact violating one of its key points (re: Free travel).
I think that's the key point of my objection here, aside from the sheer arrogance of the piece. It sounds like (and I may be doing everyone concerned a disservice):
EIC: We need a treaty in order to protect the peace in Liaedin.
OTHERS: Ok - lets see what that should look like.
EIC & OTHERS: We've agreed a treaty. Yay. Peace in our time. Have a Nobel prize.
GALATIC SUMMIT: There is now a treaty concerning Liaedin - everyone take note. Everyone has sersiously considered the issues and determined that this is the best course of action.
EIC: Hang on - we want to abandon one of the three main tenants of the treaty because actually we didn't consider particular points.
OTHERS: Ok - if you must. You do what you feel is necessary.
EIC: Hey everyone, remember that treaty? Don't dare come into our system. Pew pew pew DIE you people who may or may not be our enemy.
OVERLY LITIGOUS PLAYERS: Er, what about the treaty and it's free travel clause?
EIC: It's okay. The other people who said the treaty was good in it's original form said we could, so it's all gravy. We're actually complying with the treaty because they said it was alright. Got it?
OVERLY LITIGOUS PLAYERS: You don't actually know what a treaty is, do you?
